Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
Management training introduced me to the positive, motivational effects of coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) on my team: I loved recruiting and training graduates to become sales stars and get my role! I’d always loved personal and professional development, and in 2003, I left my secure job to risk starting a new career!
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
Ultimately, my company, Brighter Thinking supports (and challenges!) leaders to increase their confidence, lead others more effectively, learn new leadership skills and achieve brain-friendly peak performance. This will also help them to successfully progress in their career. I love it when an Executive Coaching client takes action and does something that they never thought that they could do and that their happiness, confidence, and satisfaction with their work – and rest of their life, improves as a result. This is why I do what I do!
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
My numerous testimonials from happy and successful customers speak for themselves! From supporting (and challenging!) a business to go from 6 to 7 figures sales revenue, to motivating Directors to receive a big promotion and achieve the next role, to helping clients learn how to work with their brain to beat procrastination and get stuff done with zero stress, I love the variety in the goals that they accomplish.

Nominated for the Greater London Enterprise Rising Star Awards in business 2009, Brighter Thinking was shortlisted from 500 companies and was the only choice from the professional services sector.
I train, ICF Mentor and am a coaching supervisor for other professionally trained life coaches and executive coaches. It is important to me to help others – often women – develop their confidence and skills in the coaching profession.
I’m also regularly invited to speak at international conferences and inspire others.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
As a result of starting and running my own business 19 years ago, I have learnt so many new skills and developed new strengths. I’ve met people all over the world who I would have never met. I have freedom and every day I choose when I work and what I do. I also believe that learning about coaching has helped me to be a bit nicer and far more empathetic – I was quite the London hard-nosed stressed-out sales leader in my previous corporate career!

Prioritise looking after your mindset and motivation and work with your brain, not against it. Seek out opportunities and even if you don’t know how to do something, say “yes” anyway! Trust that you will learn as you go. Plus, focus on what is FUN and ENERGISES you.
