Vineetha, what sparked your journey toward becoming a career mentor and starting your own freelance venture?
It’s been a journey of self-discovery, honestly. Right after graduation, like many, I followed a traditional path into finance — influenced by my dad’s background in the same field. I started my career with one of the Big Four firms, but it didn’t take long to realize my heart wasn’t in it. Over the years, I moved from finance to HR, completed an MBA in HR, and even helped my husband establish his medical and dental practice in the UAE. But my turning point came when I worked in the education sector, leading operations for international schools. That’s where I was introduced to coaching, even before I became accredited. Helping colleagues grow sparked something in me — that passion has stayed ever since.

You mentioned your recent freelance journey. How did that begin?
It’s still very early days, just a few months in. But after years of working across industries, I felt this urge to create something of my own — to support women, especially those trying to return to work after breaks. I’ve personally seen how hard it can be to rebuild confidence, update skills, and market oneself — particularly on platforms like LinkedIn. That’s where my focus lies now — empowering women to own their narratives and make successful comebacks.

What role do you think personal branding plays for women professionals today?
It’s everything. When I came across Humans of Fuzia, it resonated so much because personal branding, especially for women, is still an underutilized tool. It’s not just about being visible; it’s about being intentional with your story, your strengths, and your aspirations. Many women, especially after career breaks, hesitate to put themselves out there. But visibility creates opportunities — that’s why platforms like this and building your brand on LinkedIn are so crucial.

You mentioned you’re still learning and evolving — how has that mindset helped you?
It’s been my biggest strength. I’ve never been afraid to pivot — from finance to HR, from running a family business to entering the education sector, and now starting my own venture. I believe we’re all lifelong learners. Every new role, every challenge teaches you something. It’s that continuous growth mindset that’s allowed me to adapt and now help others do the same.

As someone helping women restart their careers, what’s your message to those feeling stuck or unsure?
Don’t underestimate yourself. You’re capable of so much more than you think. Taking a break doesn’t diminish your potential — it adds perspective. And with the right support, whether through coaching, community, or platforms like Humans of Fuzia, you can redefine your path and succeed on your terms.

“Your career is not a straight line — it’s a journey of rediscovery. Every pause, every pivot shapes who you become.”
