Thaysa Starling: Blending Humanity and Efficiency to Help Businesses Scale with Purpose

Thaysa Starling

Thaysa Starling is a global business strategist and entrepreneur who believes that true growth happens when efficiency meets humanity. With experience spanning entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, and cross-border operations, her journey reflects resilience, clarity, and a deep commitment to helping people and businesses unlock their potential. Humans of Fuzia is proud to feature Thaysa for her thoughtful approach to leadership and her ability to inspire women—and allies across genders—to build businesses that are both impactful and human-centered.

Q: You’ve spent time both as an entrepreneur and in the corporate world. What truly inspired you to build something of your own?
Thaysa: Actually, I started as an entrepreneur even before entering the corporate world. I’ve always believed that entrepreneurship is more of a mindset than a job title. It’s about identifying problems and helping people solve them—whether that’s through your own business or within an organization. Even in corporate roles, I was always building things from scratch—teams, projects, or entire areas. So I’ve always seen myself as an entrepreneur at heart, even as an intrapreneur inside companies.

Q: Who are the people you most often work with or connect with through your work?
Thaysa: There are two main audiences. The first is entrepreneurs and businesses—usually small to mid-sized companies, including Series A and B startups—that are scaling and often feeling overwhelmed. They want to move efficiently but don’t always know the next step. The second group is peers—other consultants and strategy leaders—where we exchange best practices, learn from each other, and sometimes collaborate professionally.

Q: What kind of impact have you seen your work create for clients?
Thaysa: The most visible impact is improved results—higher customer conversion, reduced churn, and more efficient operations. Many clients gain the structure they need to scale sustainably. From a fractional engagement perspective, it’s also beneficial because they don’t need to hire a full-time senior executive. It’s a smart, flexible way for them to access experience without heavy overhead.

Q: Imposter syndrome is something many entrepreneurs struggle with. Have you experienced it?
Thaysa: Absolutely. I’ve experienced it in different ways—as an entrepreneur, as an immigrant, and as a woman. What helps me is reconnecting with who I am and the value I bring to the table. Looking back at my journey and recognizing how solid my path has been gives me strength. And community plays a huge role—it reminds you that you’re not alone.

Q: Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently when starting out?
Thaysa: When we start, we usually have passion and big dreams, but limited understanding of the market. With more knowledge, I might have moved faster or avoided certain risks. But at the same time, not knowing everything helped me stay fluid and fearless. Sometimes, knowing too much creates mental blocks—so in a way, ignorance can be a blessing.

Q: How do you personally define success today?
Thaysa: For me, success is being at peace. Peace knowing that I do my best at work, with my family, friends, and partner. Being true to myself—that’s success.

Q: Is there a legacy you hope to leave through your work?
Thaysa: I hope my work helps people and companies unlock their potential across borders in a structured way. Bringing together efficiency and humanity—placing customer-centricity and people at the center—so businesses can experience more freedom, clarity, and happiness.

Q: What challenges do you see in your industry today?
Thaysa: It’s a very competitive and aggressive market, especially in the U.S. One challenge is the lack of awareness around fractional leadership. Some companies don’t fully understand how hands-on and impactful this type of engagement can be. As awareness grows, I believe the space will evolve positively.

“Success, for me, is being at peace with who I am and knowing I give my best—both professionally and personally.” — Thaysa Starling
