Meet Serena Wang, the visionary behind Women in the Penthouse, a global platform inspiring women to embrace abundance—not just in material terms, but as a state of mind filled with courage, peace, and self-love. After leaving behind a high-paying corporate role, Serena chose to create a space where women, especially those over 35, can reclaim their dreams and live life on their own terms. Through her podcast and upcoming global initiatives, she is shifting the narrative of success, empowering women to rise above societal limitations. At Humans of Fuzia, we proudly share her story with our 5 million-strong community as part of our mission to uplift, inspire, and support women worldwide. We believe in He for She, and She for She—and leaders like Serena embody this vision.
Serena, tell us about Women in the Penthouse and the vision behind it.
The idea came from both personal reflection and a shared desire I noticed among women—to live a life filled with more joy, abundance, beauty, and true connection. The penthouse is often seen as a symbol of material success, but I believe the real penthouse is a state of mind. When we cultivate peace, compassion, love for ourselves and others, and the courage to chase our dreams, that’s when our mind becomes a penthouse. Women in the Penthouse is about redefining success beyond the material—it’s a mindset shift. Through our podcast, events, workshops, and other projects, we want to help women experience that transformation.
Who is your platform primarily for?
We aim to empower women at any age, but we’ve noticed that women over 35, often facing midlife challenges, deeply resonate with our message. Many feel stuck, overwhelmed by responsibilities, and disconnected from their childhood dreams. Our podcast features successful women from all walks of life who’ve been through major transformations—be it leaving corporate careers, overcoming health crises, or starting something meaningful. These stories remind women that it’s never too late to reinvent themselves.
What kind of stories do you share, and how do they inspire your audience?
Our interviews have two key elements: personal journeys and practical tools. Every guest has faced real challenges and shown courage to fight for the life they want. Many are experts in their fields and share actionable tips to help women be more fearless and limitless. We’ve had guests ranging from their 30s to 70s—a 73-year-old artist, for example, still living creatively and passionately. Our platform celebrates that ageless spirit—it’s not about the number; it’s about the energy and mindset.
You’ve already launched the podcast—how has the response been so far?
We launched just two months ago and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with listeners from the U.S., U.K., Australia, Asia, and even Africa. People tell us how much they resonate with the raw, authentic conversations. I believe when we speak openly about fears, courage, and transformation, people feel that sincerity—and it inspires them.
Where can people find you or get involved?
We’re everywhere digitally—LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify. If you search Women in the Penthouse, you’ll find us. We love engaging with our audience through daily questions and interactive posts, especially on Instagram. Right now, being a guest on the podcast is completely free. In the future, we plan to expand with events, workshops, and a global community ecosystem.
What are your future aspirations for Women in the Penthouse?
We have ambitious plans, but we’re taking it one step at a time. The podcast remains our key platform, and we want to keep delivering high-quality, inspiring content, especially stories that are often overlooked by mainstream media. Next, we’ll introduce offline experiences—workshops, summits, retreats—and online courses to create holistic development opportunities for women globally.
And what challenges have you faced so far on this journey?
There are always challenges, whether technical, operational, or personal. Transitioning from corporate life to building a startup comes with many unknowns. But I believe that with every small step, we grow stronger. The mission keeps me motivated—the idea that even if our work touches just one person, it’s worth it.
“Changing the world doesn’t always mean grand gestures—it starts with inspiring just one person to make a different, courageous decision in their life.”
