Oliver, how would you describe yourself to our readers?
I’m an engineer at heart, driven by a passion for medical technology. What motivates me is using my knowledge and experience to help society through innovation. I’m someone who believes in giving back—supporting others to bring meaningful healthcare solutions to the world.
Tell us more about MedTech Pathfinder and how it began.
MedTech Pathfinder started organically. While I was still in the corporate world, startups began reaching out to me for guidance—especially those led by first-time founders. I saw a real need: they had amazing ideas but lacked the knowledge of how to enter regulated markets, build cohesive teams, and navigate the complexity of medical technology development. That’s how the business took shape. Today, I offer one-on-one coaching, group coaching, and technical consulting to help early-stage medtech companies grow efficiently and sustainably.
What kind of support do you provide these startups?
I help them with everything from regulatory strategy and engineering process optimization to leadership development. We work on aligning the company’s vision with practical execution. That includes improving internal communication, avoiding burnout, and building healthy team dynamics. It’s not just about launching a product—it’s about building a resilient business and a grounded leadership team.
Who is your core audience?
My main audience is early-stage medical technology startups, especially those who’ve just completed Series A or B funding. I specialize in working with founders and technical leaders—like CEOs and CTOs—who need both strategic and technical guidance to scale their innovations effectively.
How do people usually find you?
It’s a mix of LinkedIn, industry conferences, and word of mouth. I have over 22,000 followers on LinkedIn, and that platform has been instrumental in growing awareness about my work. But the most meaningful connections often come from referrals and in-person conversations.
What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve observed in your industry?
In medtech, the biggest challenge is the underestimation of regulatory complexity and market readiness. Many founders have brilliant ideas, but they don’t realize how long and complex it is to develop, validate, and bring a regulated medical device to market. They also often overlook whether the problem they’re solving truly affects a large enough population to make the product sustainable. Addressing these early can prevent major setbacks.
What short-term goals have you set for this year?
My main goal for 2025 is to expand my impact by working with a wider range of startups, possibly beyond the UK. I’m not looking to scale by hiring a team—my focus is staying hands-on and offering deep, personalized support to more founders.
What motivational message would you like to share with our readers, especially women in tech?
Women in medtech are still underrepresented, and I want to encourage every woman entering the field to keep going. There’s space for you here. Don’t be discouraged by being a minority in a tech-driven space. Your ideas and leadership are needed now more than ever. Keep showing up—you belong in this space.

“Don’t get discouraged—your contribution in technology matters. Stay on the path and keep showing up.”
