What sparked your journey into leadership coaching?
There were a few moments, but the first spark was being asked to give a keynote on women in leadership. I was terrified. I found a coach to help me with public speaking, but she helped me far beyond that. Later, I worked with a business coach in Kenya while managing a big team and realized the power of having someone outside your organization to guide and challenge you. That inspired me to become that person for others—someone in the ear of good leaders, helping them lead with confidence and sustainability.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when starting out?
The blank page is the hardest—no clients, no clear model. I took the pressure off by telling myself, “If it doesn’t work, I’ll get a job.” That freedom gave me room to experiment. I worked incredibly hard, coaching 28 leaders pro bono when I only needed 10 for certification. I failed many times—launched programs that flopped—but I didn’t stay in that space for too long. A coach once told me, “Most people stop too early. If you start and don’t stop, you’ll be in the top 5%.” That stuck with me.
Was there a proud moment or achievement that stands out in your journey?
I find joy in small wins—when a client sleeps better or falls back in love with their work. But being nominated for national awards was a proud moment. Launching my Impact Mastermind in January has also been beautiful—it brought together 10 purpose-led entrepreneurs who now meet every other Monday. That hour of connection and mutual support is incredibly fulfilling.
Do you work solo or have a team supporting you?
I have one amazing assistant. Otherwise, it’s just me!
What are your thoughts on women in leadership today?
Looking back, in my late 20s, I believed I had to be someone else—wear a suit, compete with the men, work harder. Over time, I’ve realized I lead better when I’m fully myself, blending both masculine and feminine energy. I don’t have to replicate traditional male leadership models. I’ve done better, and felt better, by showing up as me.
“Don’t bet the farm on success—have fun with it, work hard, and keep going. You’ll get there by being true to yourself and not stopping when it gets hard.”
