Q: Lara, could you share how your journey into hypnotherapy and brainspotting began?
A: My journey started with my own personal struggles—I went through a period of eating disorders, and that experience changed the course of my life. Through my recovery, I discovered the power of hypnotherapy, brainspotting, and spirituality. These modalities helped me heal deeply, and I felt called to guide others on the same path toward self-acceptance and emotional freedom.
Q: You mentioned brainspotting and hypnotherapy—how do these methods differ from traditional therapy?
A: Traditional talk therapy works mostly with the conscious mind, which is only about 12% of our brain’s activity. My work goes deeper—to the subcortex and subconscious—where the real root of our fears, traumas, and limiting beliefs resides. When we address those core patterns, we release emotional blocks and reprogram the mind through tailored recordings, allowing people to create a new, more aligned version of themselves.
Q: Can you explain what you mean by “alignment” in healing?
A: Alignment is about being in control of your emotions and responses. Many people think hypnosis is about losing control, but it’s actually the opposite—it helps you regain control over your reactions, choices, and mindset. True healing happens when we reconnect with all parts of ourselves, even the ones we’ve rejected, and bring them into harmony.
Q: You also integrate IFS—Internal Family Systems—into your sessions. How does that work?
A: IFS is about identifying and communicating with different parts of ourselves—the inner child, the people-pleaser, the angry self, the protector. For example, someone may struggle to say no because of a part of them that fears rejection. By opening a dialogue with that part, we understand its intention and start healing from within. I combine IFS with hypnotherapy for deeper transformation, a method I call “IFS Hypnotherapy.”
Q: You’ve worked with both individuals and leaders. How do your programs support leadership development?
A: Many leaders have the skills but lack self-confidence or self-worth, often rooted in past experiences. My programs help emerging and established leaders reconnect with their calm, confident selves. Once they address those subconscious fears, their leadership becomes more authentic and powerful.
Q: What are your current goals for your practice?
A: In the short term, I’m focused on increasing visibility—through podcasts, YouTube, and collaborations—to reach more people who can benefit from this work. Long term, I want to create online programs that include MP3 recordings and exercises, so individuals can purchase and practice them at their own pace. It’s about expanding access to healing beyond one-on-one sessions.
Q: Every entrepreneur faces challenges. What’s been yours?
A: Definitely technology. I’m not very tech-savvy, so things like SEO and website optimization have been challenging. I’m learning to delegate those aspects and collaborate with professionals, because visibility is essential—no matter how good your work is, if people can’t find you online, it limits your impact.
Q: Finally, what message would you like to leave our readers with?
A: Keep healing and keep striving to become the best version of yourself. Every step you take toward self-awareness and self-compassion brings you closer to peace and fulfillment.
