Katherine Vass

Meet Katherine Vass, founder of She Makes Her, a media platform dedicated to showcasing women in business and their incredible journeys of transformation. At Humans of Fuzia, we are proud to feature Katherine’s story as part of our global mission to inspire and empower women. With over 5 million community members across the world, we believe in He for She, and She for She—and voices like Katherine’s help drive that change.

Katherine, tell us about She Makes Her and the vision behind it.
She Makes Her is a media platform designed to profile women in business at all stages of their entrepreneurial journey. I noticed mainstream media often showcases the same few faces, making it seem like there are only a handful of successful women, which is far from the truth. Women transform themselves multiple times in their lives, often reinventing their careers or businesses. I wanted to create a space that gives visibility to these women, allowing them to share their stories and reach wider audiences—whether for investment, connection, or simply to inspire others.

You mentioned you’ve recently transitioned from corporate life to building your own platform. What has that shift been like?
It’s been both exciting and overwhelming. I’ve always been independent, so I enjoy having my own space and leading my projects. But, coming from a purely sales-focused corporate role, I’ve had to learn so much—digital automation, SEO, operational aspects—areas I never dealt with before. It’s a steep learning curve, but I find it interesting and rewarding. And of course, I’m still learning how to delegate effectively.

How did your personal experiences influence your decision to start She Makes Her?
After COVID, I moved to the countryside outside London. I didn’t have children, so I missed those traditional ways women often connect, like school groups. I felt isolated and started looking for ways to build new connections. That’s when I became a networking franchisee for a women’s organization, which opened my eyes to the diverse challenges women face in business. It reinforced my belief that women’s stories deserve to be heard—and that’s how She Makes Her began.

What stage is She Makes Her at currently? And how are you spreading awareness?
We’re at the early stages—I launched in February this year. I’ve been traveling, including to Ibiza, to interview some amazing women whose stories are now being edited for release. It’s a creative space for me to meet inspiring individuals. Right now, I’m building content and experimenting with what feels authentic. We’re present on Instagram, YouTube (still developing), LinkedIn, and of course, our website. I’m focusing on following my instincts and highlighting stories that truly resonate.

Any advice for women starting over or building something new?
Transformation is part of every woman’s journey. Reinventing yourself isn’t easy, but it’s where growth happens. Surround yourself with inspiring people, trust your instincts, and lean into your own evolution—it’s powerful.

“You’re allowed to shed your old skin and step into the next version of yourself. Your story matters, and your transformation can inspire others.”
