Joyan Chan: Redefining Success by Finding Her Voice—And Helping Others Share Theirs

Joyan Chan

Joyan Chan is an award-winning coach, podcaster, and inspiring voice who has spent the last four years building a platform that empowers others to be heard. Featured once again on Humans of Fuzia, her story continues to evolve—this time with new ventures, renewed passion, and deeper clarity. As she expands her work into helping individuals launch podcasts and become powerful podcast guests, her journey reflects the resilience, introspection, and courage that our global community of 5M+ women celebrates and learns from.

Q: What inspired you to start this new chapter in your podcasting journey?
A: I reached a point where I felt stuck. Podcasting had been my passion for years, but doing the same thing over and over became repetitive. I lost inspiration even though I kept going for my listeners. I realized I needed to do something new—something still connected to podcasting but creatively refreshing. That push helped me step out of my comfort zone and explore new ways to serve others.

Q: What challenges did you experience while making this transition?
A: The biggest challenge was that feeling of stuckness. To move through it, I had to reconnect with my “why”—why I started podcasting in the first place. Remembering the purpose behind my work helped me keep going. I also opened myself up to new ideas, like helping people become guests on podcasts, which brought fresh energy into my business.

Q: What milestones are you most proud of in this journey?
A: I’m usually very hard on myself, so I rarely pause to celebrate. But I’m proud of attracting clients who truly believe in me and in the work I do. That shows me I’m on the right path. I also see each feature, interview, and opportunity—like this one—as small, meaningful victories along the way.

Q: As a solopreneur, what is your perspective on women in leadership today?
A: Women everywhere are stepping into bigger roles—in entrepreneurship, corporations, and creative spaces. We’re seeing more women as CEOs, brand leaders, keynote speakers, and podcasters. Women relate to women; we feel seen and understood when another woman shares her story. The world is shifting to value women’s voices, and platforms like Humans of Fuzia amplify that impact globally.

Q: What message do you have for aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
A: There will be days when you feel overwhelmed, unmotivated, or doubtful—that’s part of the journey. Remember your “why,” pause when needed, and stay committed to your dreams. Reflect on the goals you set, especially as the year ends. Even if it takes months or years, as long as you stay on the path, you will get there.

Q: What is your idea of success—professionally and personally?
A: Success is having the freedom to be myself, to do the things I love, and to inspire others to do the same. There’s a quote I love: “Success is not about what you get at the end of the day, but who you become when you get there.” That is my guiding mantra.

“Success isn’t defined by achievements—it’s defined by who you become along the journey. Stay aligned with your truth, and everything else will follow.”
