Through her business and voice, she advocates for authenticity in marketing, financial independence, and empowering women in entrepreneurship.

Can you share the inspiration behind Lean Content?

Lean Content began eight years ago as a content marketing agency focused on long-form content such as blogs, emails, and e-books. Before launching the business, I worked in several B2B agencies and later decided to establish my own agency, publish books, and grow a team.

Over time, the business evolved. About a year ago, we pivoted into a LinkedIn-focused agency working primarily with B2B organizations — particularly larger companies. We help businesses grow their LinkedIn presence, build thought leadership for founders and senior teams, and support audience growth through strategic outreach.

Today, Lean Content works with a growing team of copywriters and an account manager to help businesses strengthen their visibility and impact.

What inspired you to choose entrepreneurship over a traditional career path?

My father was an entrepreneur, and seeing the fulfillment he gained from building his own business showed me what was possible. That gave me the confidence to pursue a similar path.

Before entering marketing, I worked as a secondary school teacher for ten years. Writing became my second career when I transitioned into copywriting in my thirties. Entrepreneurship gave me a greater sense of freedom and flexibility compared to traditional career paths.

Working in agencies also exposed me to how businesses operate behind the scenes. It made me realize that I could build something of my own. Over time, I continued learning, growing my expertise, and developing my own perspective on marketing.

As a mother of two young daughters, entrepreneurship also allows me to manage my schedule around family responsibilities, which is incredibly important to me.

What are your thoughts on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship?

I strongly believe in equality, inclusion, and creating opportunities for women and underrepresented groups. Women should feel confident advocating for themselves, their skills, and their right to fair treatment and financial independence.

Entrepreneurship gives women the opportunity to build their own paths, gain independence, and create meaningful impact. It’s important for women to stand up for themselves, speak openly, and support one another in professional spaces.

I’m passionate about building inclusive communities that represent diverse voices, including women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people from different backgrounds. Representation and diversity are essential for creating a more equitable future.

What challenges did you face as an entrepreneur?

When I first started, I made many mistakes. I said yes to everything, lacked boundaries, and accepted work that wasn’t right for me. I also didn’t have clear processes or contracts in place.

Over time, I learned the importance of:

  • Setting clear boundaries
  • Qualifying clients carefully
  • Establishing strong agreements and processes
  • Valuing my work appropriately

These lessons helped me build a stronger business foundation. Today, I focus primarily on delivering excellent work and maintaining positive client relationships rather than worrying about challenges.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs?

One of the most important lessons in business is learning what to say no to. Entrepreneurs often focus on making money quickly, but it’s equally important to decide which clients and behaviors you won’t accept.

Having clear standards, strong boundaries, and a defined qualification process helps create sustainable success.

What message would you like to share with the community?

Authenticity is extremely important — especially online. Business owners should be themselves when sharing their work, communicate real experiences, and avoid being overly performative.

Instead of trying to follow trends or create unrealistic images of success, entrepreneurs should share genuine insights and real business experiences. Authenticity builds stronger connections and long-term trust.

“Be yourself, set strong boundaries, and focus on meaningful work — authenticity and clarity will take you further than perfection.”
