Meet Jessica Summers, a resilient transformational guide who turned deep personal pain into purposeful empowerment. From once owning a fashion boutique to rebuilding her life after chronic illness, divorce, and homelessness, Jessica’s story is one of profound healing, courage, and reinvention. Now, she devotes her life to helping others rediscover who they truly are beneath trauma and societal conditioning. At Humans of Fuzia, we are proud to feature Jessica’s journey as a source of inspiration for our 5-million-strong global community—one that celebrates resilience, purpose, and the collective spirit of He for She and She for She.
Jessica, how would you describe yourself to our readers?
I used to be a fashion designer with a boutique. But after a traumatic series of health complications following my pregnancy, everything spiraled—my marriage, my health, my stability. I lost it all. What followed was a complete breakdown and, ultimately, a rebirth. I don’t call myself a coach; I see myself as a guide—someone who helps others uncover who they truly are beneath the pain, the trauma, and the expectations life has placed on them. I help people come back home to themselves.
Tell us about your business and the transformation you guide people through.
This is my God-given purpose. I help women realize that leadership isn’t something outside of them—it’s already within. The work I do is about unlearning the messages that have kept them small: the cultural, familial, and societal beliefs that told them who they should be. Once they strip all that away, they find their true voice and power. That’s the transformation.
What does your business model currently look like?
Right now, I’m focusing mainly on one-on-one work, though I’ve done group coaching and speaking engagements as well. The demand for personal transformation has grown, and more women are reaching out because they see what’s possible—coming from where I was to where I am now. That’s what resonates.
Who is your core audience?
I mostly work with Gen X women, though younger women come to me too. The core idea is helping people learn a new way of being—one that isn’t rooted in guilt, fear, or limitation. Whether you’re just starting out or rebuilding, the work remains the same: peeling back the layers to find the leader within.
How do people usually find you?
Honestly, it’s mostly through word of mouth, my speaking engagements, and community involvement. I volunteer at schools, speak on mental wellness, and do a lot of outreach. I also share consistently on LinkedIn, but the biggest connections come from real human interactions—being out there and showing up authentically.
What has been one of your biggest challenges in this journey?
My biggest challenge was rebuilding myself. After years of being sick and unheard—medically gaslit, over-medicated, and dismissed—I completely broke down. I lost my ability to focus, to think clearly. But that journey also taught me how to rebuild one moment at a time. That’s something I now teach others: to begin right where they are. You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment—you just start.
What are your short-term goals for 2025?
I’m excited to be launching my own summit next month. I’ve spoken on many podcasts and panels, but this is my first time hosting one myself. It’s a new challenge, but also a powerful new step in expanding my message and my mission.
What motivational message would you like to leave with our readers?
You’re not broken. You’re not lacking. You’ve just learned a certain way of being. Start by getting honest with yourself—what are you really thinking, saying, and believing? Even three minutes of thought dumping on paper can reveal what’s keeping you stuck. The way you speak to yourself matters. It’s the foundation for everything you’re becoming.
