Jaclyn is a licensed mental health counselor, speaker, writer, and founder of two thriving wellness clinics in North Carolina. A survivor of domestic violence who rebuilt her life from the ground up, she now dedicates her work to empowering women, fostering emotional healing, and creating safe, inclusive spaces for those seeking mental health support. Humans of Fuzia is featuring her because her journey of courage and reinvention inspires our 5M+ community working toward a world where women uplift women—and everyone thrives.
Q: Jaclyn, tell us a little about your personal journey.
A: I’m a domestic violence survivor. When my daughters were babies, I left their father with no money, no home, and no plan—just the determination to build a safer life. Over the years, I became a licensed mental health counselor, worked in domestic violence shelters, and eventually built my own path to financial freedom through real estate and healthcare. Today, I call myself the “dream designer” because I create spaces and opportunities where women and children can find healing, safety, and the courage to dream again.
Q: What kind of work do you do today?
A: I’m in a leadership role now. I founded two mental health clinics where we serve over 300 clients every month. My team includes mental health providers and administrative support staff. While I no longer do full-time clinical work, I focus on guiding the organization, speaking, writing, and creating wellness spaces. I also offer national and global workshops on mental health advocacy, women empowerment, and healing trauma.
Q: Who do your clinics and programs serve?
A: Anyone in need of mental health support—women, men, and children. While I’ve worked extensively with trauma survivors and domestic violence cases, our practice supports a wide range of mental health needs including anxiety, healing, and emotional resilience.
Q: Do you offer online support as well?
A: Yes, we provide both in-person and online care, which makes support accessible to more people.
Q: How do you create awareness about your work?
A: I’m currently launching a new website, and my project manager is helping with the process. I also stay active on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. I don’t love doing social media, but I do it because it’s important for people to know help exists.
Q: With such a busy life, what challenges do you face?
A: Fixing broken things! There’s always something to repair—technology issues, team challenges, systems updates. Luckily, I have a supportive team. I’ve also learned to be very tech-savvy over the years. I even built my first website myself and taught myself marketing and coding.
Q: What are your current aspirations?
A: I’m writing two books and doing more speaking engagements. My goal is to build a global platform where storytelling, healing, and empowerment come together to help others feel less alone.
Q: What message would you like to share with our community?
A: I believe we are the creators, designers, and dreamers of our lives. Keep dreaming. Take one small step every day—tiny steps lead to big transformations.
“Believe in your dream, practice it daily, and watch your life expand into something beautiful.”
