Insights from JB Bolton: Empowering Leaders and Businesses for Meaningful Growth

JB Bolton is the founder of Bolton Co. and a coach for high-performing professionals and growth-minded businesses. With over 20 years of experience leading teams and building companies, he now helps others find clarity, lead with confidence, and build careers and businesses that actually fit. He is a certified executive coach and one of the nation’s first Unreasonable Hospitality coaches, passionate about helping people do meaningful work—without losing themselves in the process.

Could you describe your initiative/startup’s purpose and vision and how it benefits its target audience?
At Bolton Co., we help people grow. Whether that’s a leader seeking more clarity, a team needing alignment, or a business owner trying to scale without burning out—we come alongside them with practical coaching and proven frameworks to drive results. Our vision is to make clarity and confidence more accessible to those building something great. We coach, consult, and run transformative experiences like Unreasonable Hospitality workshops, all designed to help clients reconnect to their purpose and serve people better—both inside and outside their organization.

As far as entrepreneurship is concerned, your journey is quite inspiring. What are some of your most significant accomplishments and how did you achieve them?
One of my proudest accomplishments was helping scale BombBomb from a tiny startup to $25M+ in annual recurring revenue, where I served as a senior executive in Customer Success, Revenue, and Operations. That experience laid the foundation for Bolton Co.—where I now guide other businesses through similar growth. Since launching Bolton Co., I’ve coached emerging and senior leaders, advised scaling tech companies, and led game-changing workshops. Every step of the journey has been driven by deep listening, thoughtful strategy, and a commitment to help people and businesses become their best selves.

Being an entrepreneur, what kind of response have you received from your users/consumers? (You can also talk about your recognitions/awards here)
The most meaningful recognition I receive is when a client says, “You helped me see what I couldn’t.” Many of the leaders I coach have gone on to earn promotions, lead more effectively, or finally gain clarity on their next step. I’ve had founders tell me I helped them reconnect to why they started in the first place. My Unreasonable Hospitality workshops, in particular, have created a buzz—offering teams not just inspiration, but a blueprint for elevating customer experience. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s what keeps me passionate about this work.

In what ways has your life changed since you began your entrepreneurial journey?
Starting Bolton Co. has helped me align my work with my values in a way that’s deeply fulfilling. I’ve learned how to hold space for others without losing my own clarity. I’ve built a business that allows me to show up fully for my clients—and for my family. The work is challenging, yes, but it’s also energizing. I wake up excited about the impact we can make. And I’m more convinced than ever that when people have clarity, confidence, and a little help, they’re capable of extraordinary things.
