Q: Felicia, can you tell us a bit about yourself and the philosophy that drives your work?
I see myself as an educator at heart. Whether it was teaching post-graduates, running a children’s charity, or working as a journalist and entrepreneur, everything I’ve done has centered on transparency and building knowledge. There’s so much noise around us—it’s easy to lose sight of who we are and what we want. My mission has always been to help people find clarity, the right tools, and the frameworks they need to shape their future.
Q: You’ve had such a diverse career. How have these different experiences come together for you?
Although my path seems varied—journalist, analyst, consultant, academic, entrepreneur—they all align around one thing: access to knowledge. From digital transformation in the 90s to sustainability today, I’ve always been interested in new areas of learning that transform society and the economy. If people don’t have access to knowledge, they can’t change what they do. So, I work on combining knowledge with accessibility to empower individuals and businesses to make better decisions.
Q: Tell us more about your current venture, Shaken, Not Burned.
It’s a podcast focused on climate change, sustainability, and decision-making. We invite experts to share perspectives on policy, science, technology, and business so that people can better understand risk, resist misinformation, and see the long-term implications of their choices. Too often, our systems push short-term thinking—whether it’s quarterly reports or election cycles—but real issues like climate change require collaboration and long-term solutions.
Q: Who are the audiences you hope to reach?
Our listeners include sustainability professionals, risk managers, and anyone who recognizes that global changes affect not just policy and geopolitics, but our daily lives. We’re all interconnected, and macro-level changes cascade down to individuals. I want people to move away from the “us vs. them” mindset and instead see the power of collaboration. Together, we can influence meaningful change.
Q: What are your short-term goals for the podcast and your work?
We’re focused on growing our community and bringing in more experts. Later this year, we’ll launch video content and begin exploring training programs to make learning more accessible. On a personal level, I’m also learning new technologies to help scale our work and finalize a comprehensive website for the podcast.
Q: Finally, what message would you like to share with women around the world?
Being a woman is challenging no matter where you are, but the most powerful thing we can do is communicate, support, and uplift one another. I deeply believe that when women work together, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
