Federica “Feds” Bellesso: Helping people overcome language anxiety and build confidence through mindset coaching

Federica “Feds” Bellesso

Meet Federica “Feds” Bellesso, a British-Italian language, mindset, and life coach who empowers people worldwide to overcome language anxiety, reframe their mindset, and embrace communication with confidence. With a background in English teaching and certifications in neurolanguage and life coaching, Feds focuses on helping professionals, expats, and learners of all ages break free from fear, self-doubt, and old-school learning patterns.

At Humans of Fuzia, we are proud to feature her because her journey inspires our 5M+ global community to reimagine learning, embrace growth at every stage of life, and recognize that empowerment starts with changing the way we think.

Q: Feds, could you tell us about your current role and what drives your work?
I work as a language, mindset, and life coach, mainly helping people who struggle with language anxiety. Many of my clients are afraid of speaking up, making mistakes, or feel blocked because of past experiences. I focus on three pillars: habits, mindset, and knowledge. Together, these allow learners to not just learn a language, but to truly feel confident in using it.

Q: Does your coaching focus only on English?
Not necessarily. Because my background is in English, I can absolutely help with grammar and vocabulary. But the mindset and habits part of my coaching applies to any language. Many people—whether learning German, Chinese, or Spanish—struggle because they believe they’re “too old” or “not good enough.” My role is to help them reframe that thinking and build routines that make learning enjoyable and effective.

Q: What does a typical coaching process with you look like?
I usually start with a clarity call—a short, free session where we discuss goals and challenges. From there, we move to a foundation session to set clear objectives. All of my coaching is highly personalized. At the moment, I work mostly in one-to-one sessions, tailoring everything to the individual. In the future, I want to create recorded courses and a membership program focused on building strong language-learning habits.

Q: Who do you mostly work with?
I work with people who are moving to foreign countries, working in international organizations, or those who suddenly find themselves needing to use another language at work. Many of my clients are from Asia—Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau—though I also help people preparing for exams like IELTS or TOEFL. My sweet spot is business professionals and highly motivated learners who want to push through their mental blocks.

Q: How do people usually find you?
Through my website, social media, and LinkedIn. LinkedIn is my main platform because that’s where most professionals and international clients are. In some countries, other platforms are more popular, so I’m active on Instagram as well. I also work with a social media manager to help me reach a wider audience.

Q: What are your goals for the near future?
By the end of this year, I’d like to scale my business by launching a membership program for language learners and recording a few courses. While I’ll continue one-to-one coaching, these new offerings will allow me to support more people at once while still focusing on personalized growth.

Q: What challenges do you face in your journey as an entrepreneur?
The biggest challenge is juggling multiple responsibilities. As entrepreneurs, we wear so many hats—coaching, admin, social media, content creation. Growing digital presence is probably the toughest part, because it requires consistency and strategy. But I’ve learned to seek support, collaborate with experts, and stay focused on my core mission.

Language learning is not just about words and grammar—it’s about mindset. Once you stop fearing mistakes and start building healthy habits, the whole journey becomes empowering.” – Federica “Feds” Bellesso
