In Conversation with Tywanah Evette

Q: Tywanah, how would you describe who you are and the work you do?
I am Tywanah Evette, also known as Thunderbird Rising. That name was gifted to me spiritually by my great-great-grandfather from the Native American lineage. The Thunderbird, much like the Phoenix, is a powerful guide. I am a high priestess, shaman, spiritual guide, best-selling author, and inspirational speaker. My purpose is to help women heal from trauma and step boldly, powerfully, and unapologetically into their purpose.

Q: What does the Thunderbird symbolize for you?
In Native American culture, the Thunderbird is a spiritual guide. Since I guide women through healing and transformation, the symbol aligns perfectly with my soul’s work.

Q: How is your coaching structured?
I offer both one-on-one and group coaching. My programs range from three months to a year, and I work very closely with my clients—especially in the beginning. Everything I create is customized; nothing is templated. As a psychic medium, I listen not only to what my clients say but also to what they may be unable or afraid to express. I don’t heal them—I hold up a mirror so they can heal themselves.

Q: You’re involved in many initiatives. Do you work alone or with a team?
Technically, I’m a team of one, but I have Team Thunder—a group of incredible women who volunteer their time and energy because they believe deeply in my vision. We come together, brainstorm, and decide what’s next over what we lovingly call “coffee chats.”

Q: How do you connect with women globally through digital platforms?
I’m active across social media, newsletters, and live sessions. I also recently launched my magazine, Rise of the Thunderbird. It highlights women’s stories, summit speakers, and journeys of healing and empowerment. Each issue will feature a different woman who has found her voice and stepped into her power.

Q: What are your aspirations for the coming year?
I’m hoping to publish my memoir by Christmas next year, and I plan to launch a nonprofit called Mama Lorraine’s Sanctuary, named after my mother. It will be a safe space for people escaping trauma and domestic violence.

Q: What has been one of your biggest challenges so far?
Finding aligned clients. People who are willing to be accountable, honest, and ready to heal. Healing requires truth, and not everyone is ready to face it—but when they are, transformation is powerful.

Q: What message would you like to share with women reading your story?
Your pain is your power.

“Sometimes the very things we’re most ashamed of become our greatest superpowers.”
