Empowering Moms from Within: Rebecca Fellenbaum’s Journey as a Somatic Life Coach

Rebecca Fellenbaum is a certified somatic life coach, intuitive guide, writer, and Cleveland, Ohio-based mom. She helps moms who’ve made it on the outside feel great on the inside so they can enjoy their lives, kids, and families. Using personalized coaching, somatic tools, and energy healing, she supports women to shift old patterns, release self-doubt, and reconnect with their true selves to live with more ease, joy, and fulfillment.

Could you elaborate on the nature of your business, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?
My private coaching practice supports moms who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, even if everything looks great on the outside. Through one-on-one sessions, I help clients uncover what’s happening on the inside and guide them to find self-love and self-worth. This work isn’t about fixing anyone. It’s about helping women remember who they are beneath the noise and pressure of everyday life and arming them with actionable tools they can use to feel great about themselves and their lives.
I also write and speak about my journey and share the wisdom I’ve been blessed to learn so others feel less alone. My work has been featured in publications like Tiny Buddha, Elephant Journal, Today’s Family magazine, and Cleveland.com.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?
The inspiration came in a whisper: You can help others on their journey. That voice got louder once I slowed down and listened to my intuition.
At the time, I was going on daily walks, listening to The Adult Chair® podcast, and reconnecting with my inner world. I had spent years living on autopilot—juggling motherhood, work, and a busy life that looked perfect from the outside. But something was missing. I felt disconnected from myself, which prevented me from fully enjoying the life I had built.
I followed that nudge and signed up for The Adult Chair® coaching certification. That training, along with deep emotional work, changed everything. It shifted how I parent, how I show up in relationships, and how I experience my life.
Now I support other moms who feel lost, guiding them back to self-love and connection to their true, authentic selves.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?
The biggest challenge was internal—believing I was worthy and fully embodying being a coach.
I had to untangle years of people-pleasing, co-dependency, and perfectionism, and the limiting belief that I was too much. That belief started in childhood and, like all limiting beliefs, I continued to unconsciously believe it until I was ready to face it head-on. I had shaped myself to show up as easygoing, responsible, and successful so I could feel safe and accepted.
Through somatic work and inner child healing, I started taking off those masks and began to connect with the younger version of me who was lonely and felt misunderstood. I learned how to care for her, tell her she was enough, and built a new belief system based on self-worth and compassion.
That healing helped me show up fully in my life and work. And it’s something I continue to practice every day. This work is never done!

Would you like to share any remarkable achievement?
To me, success means alignment. I’ve created a business that reflects who I am, is supported by my family, and helps other women feel more empowered.
I’m proud that my writing has reached thousands of readers. However, the trust my clients have in me lights me up and continues to blow me away every day. The achievement I’m most proud of is hearing a client say, “I feel more like myself than I have in years.” That’s why I am here.

Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
The women I am surrounded by and influenced by are supportive and champion each other. That said, I feel compelled to remind us that we deserve to slow down. What if we, as female leaders, instead of fighting to fit into the norm, modeled a new way?
I want to scream from the rooftops: Moms, and all women, you deserve to enjoy your life! What a revolution it would be if we set down our guilt, shame, overdoing, and over-giving and boldly said, “I’m going to enjoy my life!”
What if we stopped comparing, striving, performing, and over-consuming? What if we basked in the life we have built and enjoyed our homes, friendships, kids, partners, bodies, minds, and time? What if we dropped the belief that you can’t rest until all the work is done? It’s not true. If we embrace enjoyment and love ourselves fully, we will model it for everyone. When a woman rests and thrives, her whole village benefits. It’s time. You deserve to savor and enjoy your life. This wouldn’t remove the real and substantial pressures we are under. Still, by stepping off the treadmill we’re on, I’m sure we would alleviate at least some of the burden and stress we’re currently experiencing. It’s time to have permission to rest, savor, and enjoy your life. You deserve it!

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?
Start by turning inward. Listen to what you want, not what you think you should do. There is wisdom in your body, in your experiences, and in your intuition. Trust it.
Build something that feels good on the inside, not just something that looks good on the outside. You don’t need to do it like anyone else. And you don’t need to have it all figured out.
You are not too much. You are not behind. You are not alone. Keep going—you’re becoming more yourself every step of the way.
