Sarmistha Mitra

Sarmistha Mitra is a thought leader, spiritual psychologist, and holistic health expert dedicated to transforming lives through DecodeYou®, a groundbreaking training system designed to defuse threat signals from five different layers of the subconscious, which keep the autonomic nervous system on high alert. As the CEO and Founder of The Wellbeing Sanctuary, she integrates psychology, neuroscience, and ancient wisdom to guide individuals toward self-mastery. Recognized internationally for her contributions to mental health and wellness, she empowers individuals to recalibrate their nervous systems and achieve long-term well-being.

Could you elaborate on the nature of your business, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?
The Wellbeing Sanctuary is a personal and professional development center, recognized and accredited by KHDA and the Complementary Medical Association. Here we offer:

  • DecodeYou® Subconscious Mind Mastery Training, a unique mind-training program that systematically defuses subconscious threat signals that keep the autonomic nervous system in a state of constant alertness. When this system is overstimulated, it leads to dysfunctions in both the mind and body—manifesting as chronic stress, emotional instability, fatigue, anxiety, or even physical disorders.
  • Mental Fitness Training, designed to strengthen the mind’s resilience, emotional intelligence, and cognitive flexibility. Unlike conventional approaches that focus solely on surface-level mindfulness or motivation, our training addresses the subconscious triggers that keep individuals trapped in cycles of stress, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?
My journey began as a personal quest to understand why so many people—myself included—felt trapped in cycles of stress, self-doubt, and emotional turmoil. I experienced a deep existential crisis, questioning why, despite intelligence and awareness, people continued to struggle with mental and physical dysfunctions.

A turning point came when I healed myself from hypothyroidism, cholesterol, and triglycerides purely through mental recalibration, proving that our nervous system holds the key to both suffering and healing. I realized that unless we neutralize subconscious threat signals, our autonomic nervous system will remain locked in survival mode, impacting every aspect of life.

This led me to create DecodeYou®, not as another self-help method but as a scientifically sound, deeply transformative training to recalibrate the nervous system and break the cycle of dysfunctions once and for all.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?
My biggest challenge as an innovator is educating people about DecodeYou® and overcoming skepticism. Since DecodeYou® is a pioneering approach that works at five layers of the subconscious to recalibrate the nervous system, it challenges traditional notions of mental and emotional well-being. Many people are conditioned to seek quick fixes—whether through therapy, medication, or surface-level mindfulness—without realizing that their autonomic nervous system remains stuck in survival mode, perpetuating dysfunctions.

To overcome skepticism, the focus is on demonstrating results rather than convincing through theory. The transformation clients experience—freedom from chronic stress, emotional stability, and a profound sense of clarity—validates the power of DecodeYou® beyond words. My strategy involves educating people through experience, media visibility, and thought leadership, positioning DecodeYou® as the next evolution in mind-body recalibration.

Another personal challenge was overcoming self-doubt and resistance to being in the spotlight. I used my own training to recalibrate my subconscious, allowing me to step into my role as a leader without fear or hesitation.

Women are a growing force in workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts about women in leadership today?

Women in Leadership: A Double-Edged Sword
Women today are undeniably a powerful force in leadership, breaking barriers, driving change, and reshaping industries. Financial independence is crucial—it liberates women from oppression and subjugation, allowing them to make choices from a place of power rather than survival. However, this empowerment comes at a price—a cost that is often overlooked in society’s narrative of progress.

As we exchange traditional roles for professional success, we are losing the deeply intrinsic role of mothers and nurturers. A mother’s presence is not just about caretaking—it is about imparting emotional intelligence, instilling empathy, and fostering psychological security in children. Without this foundational nurturing, we are seeing a generation that struggles with emotional regulation, lacks deep human connection, and is more prone to anxiety, stress, and disconnection.

This does not mean women must choose between career and motherhood—but it does mean we need to redefine balance. Leadership should not come at the cost of losing the very essence that makes society functional—nurturing, presence, and emotional grounding.

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?

  • Redefine Success on Your Terms – Do not subscribe to a model of success that forces you to abandon your essence. True leadership is not about mimicking outdated power structures but about creating new paradigms that align with your values.
  • Master Your Inner World – The biggest battle you will face is not external—it is within your subconscious mind. If you do not recalibrate your nervous system to feel safe in leadership, you will self-sabotage, doubt yourself, or burn out trying to prove your worth.
  • Power and Nurturing Can Coexist – You do not have to choose between being a leader and being a nurturer. Your ability to lead comes from your ability to nurture—whether it is your business, your team, or your family.
  • Your Presence is Your Power – Leadership is not just about strategy and execution—it is about presence, emotional intelligence, and deep wisdom.
  • Sisterhood is Strength – Support other women. The fastest way to break barriers is through collaboration, not isolation. Lift others as you rise.
