Empowering Leaders and Protecting Oceans

Marc Jñānadāsa Buehner

Mauro Nardocci tells us that, “I’m blessed to be able to pursue two big passions in my life.” With 15 years of board-level experience across four continents managing businesses as large as one billion dollars, he now works as an Executive Coach, empowering leaders to become the best version of themselves and live incredible lives. At the same time, he co-founded SEADS, a startup focused on protecting the oceans by collecting plastic in rivers, which has already prevented thousands of kilograms of plastic from polluting the waters.

Could you describe your initiative/startup’s purpose and vision and how it benefits its target audience?
As an executive coach at High Performance Leadership, I help C-level leaders redefine what’s possible, create inspiring visions, and achieve extraordinary goals. Leaders often find themselves better equipped to face challenges they’ve been struggling with for years, and they look forward to tackling new ones with increased confidence and energy, which also positively impacts their personal lives.
At SEADS, we help public administrations clean their rivers from plastic. The benefits are holistic—public administrations get higher recycling rates, industries like tourism and fisheries are protected, and local communities enjoy a better quality of life.

As far as entrepreneurship is concerned, your journey is quite inspiring. What are some of your most significant accomplishments and how did you achieve them?

  • I installed the first plastic collection system in the Sarno River, infamously known as the most polluted river in Europe, preventing thousands of kilograms of plastic every year from entering the sea and saving countless fish, sea birds, and marine mammals.
  • I have more than doubled the leadership consulting business year on year for the last three years.

Being an entrepreneur, what kind of response have you received from your users/consumers?
This is the feedback I received from my last client, a C-level executive in the software industry:
“In a world where answers are expected to be fed to us quickly and easily, you encouraged me to THINK about what I was doing, what I needed to do better, and how it would benefit me. It was truly a pleasure working with you, and not only did you teach me how to improve professionally, but you also gave me life lessons. I don’t say this lightly, but you have made a significant difference in my life, and I am truly grateful.”

In what ways has your life changed since you began your entrepreneurial journey?
In my corporate experience, I always had a cushion since I barely had skin in the game. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned to be excited about the future and the big challenges I’m addressing, while staying focused on restless execution to make sure I’m progressing a little every single day.

Do you think ‘GENDER’ affects entrepreneurship?
Yes.
