Could you elaborate on the nature of your business, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?
I run Nabila Farhat, a career coaching practice that offers strategic positioning and career advancement for leaders who refuse to settle.

My offers include:

  • 1:1 High-Performer Coaching – I work closely with professionals on personalised career strategy, leadership development, and brand positioning that gets them hired, promoted, and paid.
  • First Choice Hire – My signature group program that equips professionals to stand out in the market, land ideal roles, and negotiate with confidence.
  • Career Clarity Toolkit – A guided resource to support professionals in getting clear on their direction and taking aligned action.

I work with individuals ready to lead their careers with intention, influence, and impact.

What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?
It started with what I saw behind the scenes as a recruiter: incredibly capable people underselling themselves, struggling to navigate the system, or feeling stuck in roles that didn’t reflect their potential. At the same time, I was navigating my own career crossroads and found clarity and momentum through coaching. That experience sparked my desire to create a coaching practice where I could partner with others to break through barriers and lead intentionally designed and purposeful careers.

Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?
The biggest challenge was internal; overcoming my own self-limiting beliefs. Stepping into entrepreneurship and leadership required me to back myself in a new way. I focused on mastering self-leadership: cultivating clarity, conviction, authority, and presence. That inner shift allowed me to show up powerfully for my clients and grow a coaching practice grounded in purpose and authenticity.

Would you like to share any remarkable achievement?
Scaling my coaching practice to serve professionals across Australia, the US, and the UK has been a major milestone. It’s been incredibly rewarding to partner with clients globally and see the ripple effect of that work, and I’m excited to continue expanding that reach and impact in the coming year.

Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
There are women out there leading with intelligence, courage, and deep integrity, and I find that energising. We need more of it. I want to see more women claim their authority, speak with power, and stop self-censoring for the sake of being liked. Leadership isn’t about being agreeable; it’s about being grounded, visionary, and unapologetically yourself.

What message/advice would you have for future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs?
One of my early mentors, Brett Peters, once told me: Being an entrepreneur is just as hard as being an employee, so why not build something your way?

That mindset gave me permission to take the leap.

Entrepreneurship is challenging, no doubt, but the rewards are expansive. If you feel called to it, don’t let fear stop you. Surround yourself with people who see you and support your vision, even from the sidelines. The journey is worth it.
