Empowering Careers: The Story of Zack Savino and Resolute Career Coaching

Zack Savino is a career coach dedicated to challenging the status quo of today’s work culture. He believes that focusing on the person instead of the bottom line creates a space where everyone can flourish. Growing up in a military family, Zack has moved around the world, sharing communities with people of various ideologies and lifestyles. Last year, Zack and his wife moved to Puglia, Italy, where his family has been for a decade. They decided to slow down and pursue a more fulfilling lifestyle, living on a farm with their animals. Zack has since dedicated himself to his business full-time.

Tell us about your life before the venture/leading up to your venture?
I graduated with a Master of International Communications from St. John’s University in Queens, New York, in 2020 and navigated the difficult career market during the height of COVID. I found success in various sectors, including as a Director with Meals on Wheels, Marketing Specialist with Milwaukee Power Tools, and Store Manager at Trader Joe’s. However, no matter where I went, I had no work/life balance, and I was pushed to my limit. All I wanted to do was “help people,” but it seemed like every company put their income before their workers.

A few years ago, my father started Resolute Career Coaching after retiring from the Air Force to assist veterans in transitioning to civilian life, and asked me in 2023 if I was interested in helping with some younger clients. I soon realized that I had a natural knack for empowering people to succeed and find happiness in their careers—something I couldn’t find for myself until now—and the rest is history. I have since taken over the operations and marketing of our business and am working to help the next generation of youth in this evolving internet-based world.

Tell us something about your organization. What is it about, and how is it helpful for people?
At Resolute, we believe true career fulfillment comes from aligning three key factors: job satisfaction, work-life balance, and compensation. Striking this balance can be challenging, but it’s entirely achievable. We help you navigate this triangle to create harmony and, ultimately, a deeply satisfying and rewarding career.

Particularly in America, career services at schools are lacking, and there is no formal preparation for entering the job market. Most kids are left completely clueless on how to write a resume, interview professionally, or negotiate their compensation package. As a result, businesses have all of the power, and the workers are left unsatisfied and overpowered.

We offer a comprehensive suite of services, including personal brand development, resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile enhancement, interview preparation, compensation negotiation, and more. We are committed to empowering our clients to confidently navigate their career journeys and achieve their professional goals.

When you work with Resolute Career Coaching, your program is tailored specifically to you, your goals, and your values, as they differ from person to person. There are no “packages” or flat rates—we develop a personal proposal with you based on your wants and needs.

What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture? (Please talk about your recognitions/achievements here)
We have had a resounding response from our clients so far! Creating a space where people can feel comfortable being themselves and build their confidence is invaluable among today’s manicured societies.

Here are a few testimonials from clients I have worked with:

  • “Recently, I had the privilege of receiving career coaching from Zack Savino, and it was truly transformative. Zack’s coaching primarily focused on interview preparation, where he helped me identify my strengths and identify life stories to enhance my pitch. His guidance on how to package and deliver my story was invaluable. Beyond just interview skills, Zack played a pivotal role in boosting my self-identity and confidence not only in a panel interview setting but also in life overall. His exceptional ability to connect with others, coupled with his extensive experience, makes him an outstanding coach. Thanks to Zack’s coaching, I not only felt prepared but also empowered. In fact, following his coaching, I had my first interview and received a job offer—a testament to the effectiveness of his methods.”

  • “Zack possesses strong skills in communications. He extended his services to me, offering assistance with resume reviews, interview preparation courses, and sharing essential communication skills for effective networking. I’ve always encountered the challenge of conveying my value to leaders, yet this is where Zack excels. He provided invaluable tips on making a strong impression during initial interviews, as well as navigating networking conversations.”

  • “For less than the cost of one irrelevant 3-credit hour course, Vinnie and Zack were able to build our Son’s brand and instill in him the tools and confidence to succeed in his job hunt. Several months after my Son secured his first job, he casually asked a leader in the company about the new batch of interviewees and he responded ‘They were good, but they weren’t at your level.’ This was a young man who was intimidated by the prospect of searching for a job and was dreading the interview process. It’s now one of his core strengths thanks to Vinnie and Zack.”

How has your life changed because of your venture?
I have found the career fulfillment that I had always been looking for and am able to pass that on to my clients. I have gained a deep sense of peace knowing I am finally able to “help people” in a way that I find meaningful—something that seemed like a distant ideology after working in the U.S. for a few years.

There is not much more I could ask for from work. This job has also given me the opportunity to live a more flexible lifestyle where I actually have time to spend with my friends and family—something that was an occasional luxury before. Work used to be a sore subject for me, but now I am proud of what I do and can confidently say that I am carrying out my purpose.

What are you working on right now?
My main venture right now is building Resolute’s social media presence across all platforms by providing free information on topics covering the entire career search spectrum—cover letters, resumes, reaching out/finding jobs on LinkedIn, and more. It frustrates me when businesses “hide” information behind a paywall by being vague and baiting people into paying for a program or class. I am creating long-form videos to educate anyone (but hopefully reaching the youth) on empowering themselves—those who want to master these skills or want help achieving their goal can then book my services.

I recently received a certification as an Academy Certified Resume Writer from the Resume Writing Academy, and am working on becoming a Certified Interview Coach to further hone my skills. I am always working to better serve my clients and bring the newest, most relevant information to the table for their job search.

Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.
We have come so far in our fight for equity in this modern world, but there is still SO much work to be done. Pay gaps between women and men are still common worldwide, and women are less likely to negotiate their compensation when the company does not explicitly say it is negotiable (source).

I believe that everyone deserves to be independent should they choose to be, and at Resolute we are working every day to instill confidence in people so they feel empowered to find THEIR success—not the “success” that society tells them they should be striving for.

You can do it. Whatever “it” is to you, the only thing standing in your way is the journey to get there. There are people in this world who truly want to help, and by finding each other, we can build a worldwide community that better serves all of us.
