Nette Hargreaves is a passionate Human Design Luminary and Self-Love Sidekick who empowers individuals and families through the lens of human design. Her mission is to simplify the understanding of one’s design to help people feel fabulous about themselves—as individuals, parents, or business owners.
With an unwavering belief in potential and possibility, Nette approaches life with fun and mischief. She’s an advocate for joy, travel, food, and spontaneous kitchen discos.
As a teen mom, she understands the complexities of balancing personal well-being with the demands of family, work, and community. She is known for fiercely championing others—like a Jack Russell chasing a tennis ball—cheering them on as they embrace their unique genius.
If your business could have a mascot, what would it be and why?
Oooh my business mascot would be the Pink Panther. He’s dynamic, fun, a little bit cheeky… and pink!
What strategies do you employ to maintain a healthy work-life balance while running your own business?
I tend to follow my own energy. When I am excited about something, I am all in but then make room to relax after a project is finished. On a weekly basis, it helps for me to have set client days as well as two days in my coworking space. I block Mondays for admin and Fridays to decompress. That said, I don’t always get it right and often overshoot my natural capacity because my excitement occasionally feels like a runaway freight train. I operate best when I trust my flow and don’t box myself into rigid routines.
When faced with unexpected detours on your business path, how do you pivot with grace and resilience, showing fellow women entrepreneurs the way forward?
I try to see unexpected detours as a universal redirect. Like life saying, “Look that didn’t work out but there’s something better over here that you can’t see yet.” That said, I feel it’s important to acknowledge our disappointments and lows instead of bypassing them with forced positivity. Feeling very solid in myself and my own value in spite of external circumstances is also key to not letting myself get dragged down by disempowering stories. So is the knowing that life is cyclical and not the 24/7 highlight reel the online world projects outwards.
How do you measure the success of your business beyond financial metrics, such as customer satisfaction or community engagement?
My ultimate success measure in business and life is my own happiness. Of course, success includes having impact and serving my clients to the best of my ability, and I do that best when I am happy with the version of myself that I am in the present moment.
Can you share a memorable moment where you witnessed significant growth or transformation in your business, illustrating the impact of your services/products?
My most memorable moments are always the micro moments that happen in personal conversations demystifying a woman’s human design for her. It’s when the light goes on in someone’s eyes and they realise they are not broken but beautifully whole. That the parts they have made wrong about themselves are indeed their special gifts. It’s like handing someone a permission slip to be more of who they naturally already are. It’s f***ing magic every time!
What role do you believe mentorship plays in the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial journey?
In my experience as a solopreneur, community has been my absolute lifeline. Of course, coaches and mentors play a key role in helping your business evolve but what has supported me most has been the community of like-minded women entrepreneurs I share my journey with. Living in a rural area, I am lucky to have a dynamic coworking space where women support, cheerlead and challenge each other to succeed. We share our ups and downs, remind each other of our brilliance and our “why,” celebrate our wins and lend an empathetic ear when life throws us a curveball.
What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?
I love using human design as a tool for feminine and family empowerment. I think of it as the secret sauce that allows you to live life your way and embody the fully expressed, unapologetic version of yourself. It’s like a permission slip to own and unlock your personal brand of magic.
Human design is the gateway to this kind of freedom. It is a unique combination of ancient and proven understandings about your energy as a human being. More than that, it is your personal energetic blueprint that can help you peel back the layers of your conditioning. Your design shows you everything that you are, so that you can stop being everything that you are not.
Over millennia, women have been taught to think that this kind of self-expression is a luxury, a “nice to have” or even dangerous. But it isn’t. We are perpetually underestimating our impact on the people we care about—our partners, families, clients and communities. As women, we are the unacknowledged energetic leaders of it all. Our personal joy and fulfilment has the potential to lift up everyone around us, and of course the reverse is true as well. We are way more powerful than we give ourselves credit for… and it’s time we own it. Women’s power is different from the patriarchal and hierarchical structures of the past. It’s gentler, more collaborative, more invested in the good of all rather than the benefit of a few. Let’s stop underestimating the force for good we can be.
