If your business could have a mascot, what would it be and why?
A giant, smiling smartphone! It showcases the focus on digital and also a happy smartphone to show the impact on wellbeing!
What strategies do you employ to maintain a healthy work-life balance while running your own business?
I am quite strict with my time. When I’m working, I’m fully focused. When work time is up, the laptop goes off, and I move into mum-mode! I also try to make time for myself, such as getting up at 5 a.m. to go to the gym. I am a keen crocheter, so I spend my evenings crocheting, which helps to stop me from picking up my phone!
When faced with unexpected detours on your business path, how do you pivot with grace and resilience, showing fellow women entrepreneurs the way forward?
I remind myself that everything is temporary and can be worked out. I do what I can to look for alternative opportunities and learn from the challenges that have been presented to me.
How do you measure the success of your business beyond financial metrics, such as customer satisfaction or community engagement?
I survey customers to gather their feedback and satisfaction rates. I also gather testimonials and write down great feedback I get verbally.
Can you share a memorable moment where you witnessed significant growth or transformation in your business, illustrating the impact of your services/products?
I was paid to speak at a conference in Lesotho, Africa. It was my highest-paid speaking gig and an incredible experience! This opportunity came about through word of mouth and my social media videos!
What role do you believe mentorship plays in the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial journey?
Mentorship is hugely important. I’ve had several mentors along my career path and am always happy to chat with new upcoming entrepreneurs. Learning from others and having a sounding board is so important.
What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?
I deliver digital wellbeing sessions, which help individuals and organizations maintain positive relationships with the digital world. This includes examining smartphone use, digital software used in organizations, email management, digital presenteeism, and digital distractions. The results are improved productivity and performance, mental health, sleep, and focus.
