Q: Could you share your journey and how Career Life Academy came into being?
A: I spent 25 years working in higher education and global health training companies. When I left my last company, I spent six months searching for a new role but couldn’t find the right fit. During that time, I leaned on my academic background—I had completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in Organizational Development and later earned a Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on leadership. Instead of taking one of the offers I eventually received, I decided to build something of my own. That’s how Career Life Academy started.
Our methodology is based on a scientifically proven, research-backed model that increases people’s chances of finding the right job exponentially. Over the years, we’ve supported executives as well as individuals in marginalized communities, helping them not just find a role but also develop the skills and confidence to sustain growth in their careers.

Q: What inspired you to expand your mission beyond executives to a broader community?
A: In 2020, I made the decision to reach more people. I acquired a staffing and recruiting company focused on light industrial jobs, so that we could also support individuals earning between $15–$25 an hour who were struggling to find stable work. We developed online classes, coaching, and even an AI-powered interview platform to build confidence and job readiness. The idea was never just to help people land a job, but to equip them with lifelong skills.

Q: You mentioned upcoming projects around women’s empowerment. Could you tell us more?
A: Yes, absolutely. At the end of this month, we’re launching two new classes—one on Career EQ, which focuses on using emotional intelligence to succeed in careers, and another on Branding for Women, designed to help women define themselves and stand out in their professional and personal journeys. Both will also be supported by books and interactive workbooks.
Even though my work is gender-inclusive, I’ve always believed that supporting women directly creates lasting change, because when you uplift women, you uplift their children and families too. That belief continues to guide me.

Q: What advice would you give to someone starting their business journey today?
A: Do your homework. Be very clear about your product or service and who your target demographic is. Clarity is everything—it allows you to move forward with confidence.

Q: What message would you like to leave with our global community of women and allies?
A: Be clear on your direction and have the confidence to pursue it. Take the first step, no matter how small, because clarity and confidence together will help you stay on the path toward your goals.

“My mission began with helping women because I know that when women thrive, their children and communities thrive too. That remains at the heart of everything I do.” – Dr. JuliAnna Stone
