Darcey Croft: Revolutionizing Maternal Wellness through Mindset, Nutrition, and Empowerment

Darcey Croft

Darcey Croft, a UK-based registered midwife, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate, is transforming the way women experience pregnancy, birth, and postpartum life. Through her initiatives—Mother Mind and Isomum—Darcey is championing holistic support for expecting mothers by integrating mental preparedness and nutritional wellness.

At Humans of Fuzia, we are proud to spotlight Darcey’s story, which resonates deeply with our mission to empower women, foster thought leadership, and create meaningful networking opportunities for changemakers worldwide. Her journey reflects a powerful blend of passion, expertise, and innovation aimed at reshaping maternal care.

Darcey, what inspired you to start Mother Mind?
As a registered midwife in the UK, I’ve seen firsthand how maternal mental health can dramatically impact a woman’s pregnancy, labor, and delivery experience. Despite a lot of focus on the physical aspects, mental and emotional well-being is often overlooked. I noticed that stress, fear, and anxiety can negatively affect outcomes—and that’s where Mother Mind comes in. We’re preparing women not just physically, but mentally, using tools like breathwork, visualization, and mindset coaching inspired by techniques from other industries like sports and the military. My goal is to empower women to face childbirth with confidence and resilience.

How is Mother Mind structured, and what can women expect?
Right now, I work one-on-one with a few women, alongside my full-time role as a specialist midwife. But we’re building out a multi-tiered platform that will include courses, a membership community, WhatsApp groups, and broader resources. It’s still early days, but the vision is clear: help women feel safe, prepared, and in control, reducing the fear and trauma often associated with birth.

Tell us about Isomum, your other exciting venture.
Isomum is the world’s first hydration and wellness drink designed specifically for labor and delivery. During childbirth, women exert immense energy—comparable to a marathon—but most hydration products on the market are designed for men or athletes. I saw a gap, especially for women with gestational diabetes or other conditions who can’t have sugar-loaded sports drinks. Isomum corrects electrolyte imbalances without spiking blood sugar and provides safe, effective hydration. It launched last year, sold out immediately, and is now back in stock, available in the US and UK on Amazon.

What goals do you have for Mother Mind and Isomum by 2025-2026?
For Isomum, we’re expanding the product range with more pregnancy-safe nutrition solutions designed by people who truly understand maternal health needs. For Mother Mind, the focus is on scaling awareness and launching our full suite of courses and resources. Too many women are fearful of childbirth—it doesn’t have to be that way. With the right mental tools and preparation, they can approach birth empowered, not afraid.

As a busy entrepreneur, what challenges do you face?
Time and technology! Between working full time, running two businesses, and training as a clinical hypnotherapist, there’s never enough time for everything. Social media is a big hurdle—I know the value of Reels and TikToks, but I’m still overcoming my own hesitation around creating video content. Also, with so many AI tools and platforms, it’s overwhelming to choose what works best. I love Upwork and Fiverr for freelance support, and I’m building a team to help manage marketing and digital presence.

What’s one motivational message you want to share with our community?
I always remind people—especially women—to believe in themselves, even when they feel overwhelmed. One thing I share often: You don’t have to do it all at once. Let your business grow, let your platform be a ‘baby’—nurture it, enjoy the process, and don’t let fear hold you back. If you love what you do and you’re solving a real need, success will follow.

“Childbirth is the greatest challenge many women face, but with the right tools and mindset, it can be a powerful, positive, and even joyful experience.” – Darcey Croft
