Q: Clifford, tell us a little about your journey as an entrepreneur.
I’ve built and led several businesses over the past 30 years. Today, my main focus is coaching and mentoring leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals through my company, alongside pursuing my passion for visual art and photography. Entrepreneurship allows me to blend both my business acumen and creative side, and I truly enjoy helping others succeed.
Q: Do you currently run this business alone, or do you have a team?
At this stage of my life, I’m a solopreneur by design. I like it that way. I do bring in contractors or freelancers if needed, and I have many connections from running a digital marketing agency in the past. But overall, I prefer the independence and flexibility of working solo.
Q: One of the biggest challenges entrepreneurs face is finding clients. How do you approach this?
I’ve been involved in sales and marketing for 40 years, so I’ve developed my own systems for business development. I focus on processes rather than outcomes. I use LinkedIn, social media, and my local community for outreach. The key is measuring results, evaluating the quality of your efforts, and refining processes—it’s an ongoing cycle.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting their business journey?
Understand that you can’t control outcomes, but you can control the processes that lead to results. Focus on building good habits around outreach, marketing, and client development. Also, know yourself well—entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. But if you enjoy your work and commit to developing the right skills, it can be very rewarding.
Q: What are your current goals or future plans?
I’m expanding my digital art business locally here in Arizona and continuing to grow my leadership coaching practice on LinkedIn. My short-term goal is simple: expand revenue while enjoying my work. I believe that enjoying the process makes it sustainable for the long term.
“Entrepreneurship can be a powerful way to create wealth and fulfillment. Know yourself, enjoy your work, and never stop developing the skills you need to thrive.” – Clifford Jones
