What inspired you to start your journey as a coach and entrepreneur? Were there any specific events, challenges, or people that motivated you to take this path?
Starting my journey as an entrepreneur and coach was deeply rooted in both personal experiences and professional insights. The key inspiration came from observing my own daughters’ curiosity about technology and realizing that there was a huge gap in education when it came to giving young people the tools to not just consume technology, but to create it.
Having spent 14 years at Cisco as a Solutions Architect, I saw firsthand the rapid advancements in technology and the demand for skilled professionals. I realized that there was a need for more accessible STEM education—one that empowers students with practical skills in areas like robotics, AI, and programming.
What truly motivated me was the desire to build a bridge between the skills required for the future and the current education system. The lack of adequate resources and hands-on learning experiences for young people drove me to launch Pixelia.
Also, having a strong partner like Rehab Tarek, my female co-founder, who shares the same passion and brings her own expertise in marketing, has been pivotal in our journey. Together, we are committed to providing the next generation of leaders with the tools and skills needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.
This journey wasn’t without challenges—navigating the startup world, overcoming resource constraints, and figuring out how to make cutting-edge technology accessible to young learners—but the passion for empowering youth with STEM education kept me going.
The combination of personal inspiration, my professional background, and a drive to address gaps in education led me to become an entrepreneur focused on transforming education for the digital age.
Looking back at the beginning of your career, what were the major challenges you faced when establishing yourself as a leader/coach? How did you overcome those obstacles?
At the start of my career, one of the biggest challenges was shifting from a technical expert to a business leader. Coming from a strong IT and engineering background, I was highly skilled in technology but had to develop new abilities in communication, leadership, and business strategy.
Another major challenge was building credibility and influence outside the corporate world. When I founded Pixelia, I had to establish myself as a trusted voice in STEM education. This meant networking, continuous learning, and actively engaging with educators, students, and industry leaders.
To overcome these obstacles, I focused on:

✅ Building strong networks – Connecting with industry professionals, educators, and innovators.
✅ Taking calculated risks – Launching initiatives like Pixelia to demonstrate impact and innovation in STEM education.
Through resilience, adaptability, and a clear vision, I’m working hard to navigate these challenges and establish myself as a business leader.

A proud milestone is winning the GES Award at Bett 2025 for Pixelia’s STEMpedia robotic kits and curriculum, recognizing our innovative approach to STEM education. This award reinforced our mission to make technology education more accessible and impactful.

Women in leadership are making remarkable strides, and I am proud to have Rehab Tarek as my co-founder at Pixelia. With her expertise in marketing and business development, Rehab plays a key role in driving our vision of empowering students through STEM education.
Her passion for innovation and technology has been instrumental in shaping Pixelia’s approach to robotics, AI, and drone programming. Together, we’re committed to breaking down barriers and providing equal opportunities for women and young people in STEM fields.

My advice to future women leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs is to embrace your unique perspective and trust in your abilities. The world needs diverse voices, and your contribution matters. Don’t be afraid to take risks, make bold decisions, and fail forward—each challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Surround yourself with a strong support network—mentors, peers, and those who inspire you. Build resilience, and remember, leadership is about service. Always aim to empower others while staying true to your values.
