Tell us a little about your journey—what inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I’ve worked in the luxury goods and retail space for years, eventually moving into a corporate wholesale role. Throughout that time, I became very aware of how people are treated in organizations—both the good and the bad. That awareness fueled my passion for nurturing talent and treating every person, no matter their title, with dignity. My entrepreneurial journey really started when I realized the importance of building businesses with compassion at the core. That’s how CHP Consulting came to life—CHP stands for Creativity + Humanity = Profitability, and that’s a philosophy I carry through everything I do.
You’ve also launched CHP Caliber. Could you tell us more about that?
Absolutely. CHP Caliber is a project I’m incredibly passionate about. It’s focused on independent, micro-brand watches—helping these unique brands get placed in independent luxury retailers. It’s a niche concept, but one I believe in deeply. The idea combines my industry connections with a fresh, people-centered approach to business growth.
Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, especially in today’s world. What challenges have you faced along the way?
The biggest challenge, like many entrepreneurs, has been financial. Starting something new means educating clients, building trust, and hustling hard—especially with CHP Caliber, since there’s really nothing exactly like it in the U.S. right now. I’ve taken on consulting gigs and odd jobs to make ends meet, which can be scary after years of having stable corporate jobs with benefits. But here’s the truth—it’s the happiest I’ve ever been. The freedom and fulfillment of building something aligned with your values? It’s worth every challenge.
You’ve been in male-dominated industries. What has your experience been like as a woman and a non-binary entrepreneur?
It’s been a mixed bag. The wristwatch world, for instance, is very male-dominated. Sometimes I walk into rooms where people wonder, “Who is she? What is she doing here?”—whether it’s because I’m young, femme-presenting, or different in some way. But I’ve also found incredible support from those who value diversity and inclusion. I believe we’ve made progress, but there’s still a long way to go—especially when it comes to uplifting Black voices, queer voices, trans voices, and anyone who doesn’t fit traditional molds.
What are your short-term goals, both personal and professional?
On the business side, my goal is to have CHP Caliber officially launched in stores this year. I’m in contract negotiations with two brands and working to sign five quickly, with the aim to be in 20 to 25 retailers by year-end. I also want to grow CHP Consulting, offering more leadership coaching and culture strategy services when time allows. Personally, I want to stay grounded—keep showing up, trust the process, and create businesses that reflect creativity, inclusivity, and heart.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Trust your gut, trust the universe, and show up. Things won’t always go as planned—clients may say no, deals may fall through—but every ‘no’ gets you closer to a ‘yes.’ Recently, I attended a few industry events where simply showing up led to new clients and investor conversations. Believe in yourself, lean into your authenticity, and know that everything will unfold as it’s meant to.
“Being your own boss and moving with integrity is so freeing and rewarding. It’s not easy—but it’s worth every moment,” says Becca, reminding us all that success built on compassion is success that lasts.
