Angelina Carleton: Redefining Legacy Beyond Wealth

Angelina Carleton

Angelina Carleton is a coach, podcaster, and thought leader who has carved a unique path in the world of legacy planning. Unlike the conventional association of legacy with wills, estates, or financial assets, Angelina empowers individuals to think holistically about the values, stories, and principles they wish to pass on. Her journey began with a pivotal moment in the real estate industry that sparked a deep question: What if legacy could mean more than wealth? Today, she is pioneering a movement that challenges families and individuals to reflect on the essence of what they want to leave behind for future generations. Humans of Fuzia is proud to share her story with our 5M+ community as part of our mission to support women and amplify meaningful voices worldwide.

Q: What inspired you to start your journey in legacy planning?
It all began when I attended a luncheon in Los Angeles where the discussion centered on private prisons. I realized I didn’t want my legacy to be tied to the suffering of others. That thought sparked a journey. I discovered that while coaches existed for health, income, or personal growth, no one was helping people design their life legacy. In 2014, I invested in training, learned coaching from the ground up, and began working with individuals globally to redefine what legacy could mean.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in building this idea?
The biggest challenge is getting people to believe they can design their own legacy. Many assume legacy is only for the wealthy, but that’s not true. Legacy is about passing down values, lessons, and stories, not just assets. Another challenge is confidence—people often doubt that their insights matter. But your answers, your values, your story—those are enough.

Q: What has been your proudest milestone so far?
I’d say the success of my podcast. It started in 2020 during the pandemic, and today it’s in the top 5% worldwide. What surprises me most is that 80% of listeners are men, which shows that the idea of legacy resonates universally. Yet, I also see women quietly thinking about it—reflecting on their wealth, families, and the values they want to preserve.

Q: How do you view women in leadership today?
I believe women sometimes feel pressured to lean into masculine traits to succeed. But there’s real power in embracing feminine strengths like receiving, intuition, and reflection. Also, we need more women in government and leadership roles globally. If decision-making tables had more women, the world would be governed differently—with more balance, compassion, and long-term vision.

Q: What is your personal definition of success?
For me, success is turning ugliness into beauty. It’s about helping individuals move from a place of misalignment or silence into living authentically, based on their values. Success is harmony, peace of mind, and freedom—regardless of net worth. It’s knowing that you’re leaving behind something meaningful that others can build upon.
