Q: What sparked your journey into entrepreneurship?
Angel: My journey wasn’t a single leap but a series of moments. The first time, it was involuntary—I was laid off from corporate America and turned a side hustle of financial coaching and tax preparation into a full-time venture. Over time, I found my true passion in leadership development, and today, with Leading Beyond Limits, I work intentionally to empower others to grow as leaders.

Q: What were some of the challenges you faced early on?
Angel: One of the biggest challenges was realizing that revenue doesn’t flow every month. You need financial planning and resources to fall back on. Another hurdle was finding trustworthy people to work with, especially when you have proprietary ideas. Funding is a challenge for most entrepreneurs, myself included. At one point, I had to return to a corporate job to sustain my journey.

Q: Can you share a milestone or proud moment from your journey?
Angel: Starting the Leading Beyond Limits podcast was a huge milestone. It gave me a platform to share conversations with leaders, mentors, and coaches, helping others learn from their journeys. Accompanying that with a leadership newsletter allowed me to provide valuable tips in different formats, reaching more people who want to grow as leaders.

Q: What legacy do you want to leave with your clients?
Angel: I want my clients to remember me as someone who empowered them not just with leadership skills but with confidence and emotional intelligence. Many focus only on hard skills, but I emphasize soft skills—listening, empathy, and emotional intelligence—because they are equally essential for true leadership.

Q: As a woman in leadership, what are your thoughts on women rising in workplaces?
Angel: It takes resilience. Women often have to prove themselves multiple times to be taken seriously, especially women from underrepresented communities. But women are redefining leadership standards—we bring emotional intelligence, inclusivity, and empathy into spaces that often lack them. We’re changing the world one step at a time and creating room for other women to rise alongside us.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring women leaders and entrepreneurs?
Angel: Stop waiting for permission. Don’t overthink or wait for approval—just take action and, if needed, ask for forgiveness later. Build a strong network because you’ll need supporters at every stage of your journey. And invest in yourself continuously through learning, education, or coaching. These three—courage, community, and continuous growth—will take you far.

Q: What does success mean to you?
Angel: Success is doing what you love, when you want, without being bound by time or money. For me, it’s not about wealth—it’s about passion and impact. When you find that one thing that lights you up, it takes away all other worries because you know you’re making a difference.
