What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I’m a first-generation British-born Nigerian. I was born in London and grew up in Nigeria before starting my life in business and starting business. Well, if we go back to the beginning, I graduated from university with a degree in International Relations and opened my first business with a friend focusing on organising events. We decided that the business would focus on creating events for women in business. We organised different conferences, workshops, and masterclasses to support women in business and create a community of women who support women. At one of the events, we had a speaker who focused on fears and phobias using NLP. She was incredibly confident and resplendent, and I decided I had to work with her. You see, I had been struggling with a debilitating fear of speaking in public. That day I committed to dealing with my fear of speaking in public. I decided to work with her as I was fascinated by it, and after experiencing the results, I chose to study it, becoming a practitioner and coach.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
I started to speak on topics I was passionate about, which focused on women stepping up and owning their power and giving them tools to get out of their way.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
My mission is to guide women on a journey of rediscovery, reconnecting them with their most formidable selves. The version unshaken by fear, self-doubt, and that sneaky Imposter Syndrome. I’m here to help these incredible women break free from those shackles. By teaching them to tap into the power of archetypes that reside within them, nurturing their strengths, and unlocking the full force of their abilities. Whether it’s forging a stellar career, cultivating a deeply fulfilling relationship, or simply living a life overflowing with joy and abundance.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
I’m proud to say that I’ve contributed to the bestselling book “Success in High Heels“, where 30 of the most influential female writers shared their insights. Additionally, I spearheaded the book project “Born for This!” which details the journey to success in life, love, and business. Recently, I published an e-book named “The 7 Habits That Rob Us of Our Power“. This was released during the global Covid pandemic and aimed to shed light on the habits that hinder women from achieving their full potential in their careers, businesses, and personal lives.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
If I were given the opportunity to bring about change in the world, my heartfelt desire would be to witness a world where women wholeheartedly prioritised their well-being and reconnect with their sensual selves. I envision a world where women feel empowered to embrace their confidence, unleash their inner fire, and fearlessly pursue their dreams. It is vital that women prioritise self-care and self-love, enabling them to become unstoppable forces of positive change within their families, communities, and beyond. By empowering women to conquer fear, self-doubt, and past setbacks, I strive to ignite a global movement where women confidently embrace their authentic selves and live life to the fullest.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
My thoughts on women’s leadership today are brimming with optimism and admiration. We’re witnessing an incredible shift in the landscape, with more and more women stepping up and breaking through barriers to take on leadership roles across various sectors. It’s a remarkable sight to behold! Women’s leadership brings a unique perspective and a fresh approach to problem-solving, communication, and collaboration. We bring empathy, intuition, and nurturing qualities to the table, which are invaluable in building strong, inclusive teams and fostering a supportive work environment. However, despite our progress, there are still hurdles to overcome. Gender biases and stereotypes persist, posing challenges for women striving to climb the corporate ladder or make their voices heard. We must challenge these limitations, dismantle the glass ceiling, and create equal opportunities for women at all levels of leadership. It’s crucial for women to be bold, assertive, and unapologetic in claiming their rightful place in leadership positions. We must support and uplift each other, celebrating our achievements and amplifying our voices. Through mentorship, networking, and targeted training programs, we can empower more women to rise to the top and make a meaningful impact in their respective fields. Women’s leadership is not just about individual success; it’s about creating a more equitable and just world. It’s about bringing about positive change, fostering diversity, and embracing collaboration. By championing women’s leadership today, we are paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future where all women can thrive and make their mark.
What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
Playing the world’s best secret in your industry serves no one. You have to show up and let people know you are there. Networking and building solid connections are crucial to your growth, whether you are in business or in your career. Do not listen to the chimp committee in your head, I am talking about the negative self-talk that just wants to run you down. Create a life team of people who are committed to reflecting the best of you back to you. They are the people who will support you when you need a helping hand.
