What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I grew up in a small village, deeply rooted in family values with three siblings. Music and art were integral parts of our upbringing. My parents instilled in us the importance of helping others, being involved in the community, and participating in sports. My father was an entrepreneur, while my mother was a progressive thinker. They encouraged us to be independent and open-minded. From an early age, I developed a passion for music, and we were taught the significance of building connections with others. This foundation shaped my approach to life and business, emphasizing the value of relationships and innovation.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
In 2013, during an afternoon bike ride with a friend, a crazy idea struck me: I shared “I wanted to write a book”. Fresh from obtaining my psychotherapist and coaching certifications, I thought of calling it “Own Your Crap,” focusing on taking responsibility for our lives. We laughed!! Never thought, despite my dyslexia, I started writing, the book idea grew on me. I never thought It would change my life completely.
One beautiful fall afternoon, my cell phone vibrated. It was my boss, offering me a new territory. I hesitated for a moment and then replied, “I decline your proposal. I will train the new recruit.” Was this the beginning of the end? No, it was a new beginning!
My family and partner were speechless, thinking I was in a phase. After 20 years of working with companies ranging from SMBs to Fortune 500 giants, I decided to start my own business. Something deep inside me urged me to surpass myself and unleash my inner potential. I had made the decision to honor my truth and carve my own path.
St-François-de-Sales said, “Do not wish to be anything other than what you are but be it to perfection.” Embracing this, I knew that to make an omelette, you have to break eggs. Honoring my truth required accepting myself as I am, with courage, humility, discipline, and faith in my potential and in life.
I decided to chart my own route, my “Map Route,” using a ladder as a symbol. Knowing where to place our ladder firmly before climbing ensures we reach our goals without falling. The ladder represents alignment towards our ultimate destination.
On the first step, we reconnect with who we truly are, recognizing our identity, talents, and purpose. Feeling grounded and rooted, we begin our climb. I asked myself, “Do I intend to shine to my fullest?” On a scale of 1 to 10, my answer was a resounding 9, both personally and professionally. And so, I decided to move forward and embrace this new journey. Every moment requires constant vigilance in order to act consciously and coherently with our truth. It’s a path, an adventure that involves self-discovery.
