Maria DC tells us that, “I have created and run my own coaching business here in the UK, where I am based. The idea behind Mpower Coaching is to empower women (and men) to create the life they dream of, letting go of any negative emotion or limiting belief and start liaving a fulfilling life.”
Before you became the business titan you are today, enlighten us about the thrilling adventures of your pre-business life.
I worked for over 10 years in Media, overseeing teams and running the relationship with some of the biggest brands out there (Google, HP, Calvin Klein). It wasn’t the job of my dreams but it paid the bills and, due to the number of people who were reporting to me, I was given the chance to study NLP and coaching. And soon it became clear that it was that part that was setting my heart on fire.
When my father passed away four years ago, I decided to take the plunge, leave the media for good and deepen my knowledge of coaching to set up my own business.
Could you elaborate on the nature of your initiative/ business/current role, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?
I am a one-man shop for any human being who feels stuck or in the middle of change. The way I work is a combination of standard coaching techniques, Hypnosis and TimeLIne Therapy, as well as Mindfulness. I am here to unlock potential and improve my clients’ performance in life, career, relationship and anything in between.
What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture?
I have had several incredible feedback from my clients, and I managed to bring the business into the corporate world. I am currently coaching and teaching Mindfulness to some of the biggest trading companies worldwide. I also run specific workshops around London and surrounding areas; these workshops are particularly key to open up conversation about empowerment and the unlimited possibilities to change our reality.

In this life, I was blessed with an extremely supportive network of female friends. They have been and still are the backbone of my life, they are my soul family and my absolute constant source of inspiration.
As a young woman entrepreneur, what changes do you hope to see in the world and what opportunities are you seeking?
It’s good to see there are platforms such as Humans of Fuzia, where our voices can be heard. Their world would benefit so much from more spaces like this one.
Women now stand shoulder-to-shoulder with men in the workplace, breaking through glass ceilings to reach the top. What are your thoughts on women’s leadership today?
This is just the beginning! Women naturally have an incredible power to create (after all, we even create life!) and possess remarkable resilience; it was only time! I am not saying we are better than men, what I am saying is: we are wonderful creatures, here to let our ‘feminine’ element work alongside the ‘masculine’ one. Together we can not only reach the top, but change the world for the better.
