Amelie Rowan Summer is a love, sex and women’s empowerment coach, and also a priestess. She holds space for women to come home to their innate wildness and the wisdom of their body. Using gentle somatic practices to facilitate reconnection with their joy, power, and inner divinity so they can shine their light more fully in the world.
What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I was shy and anxious as a child, I never knew my own inner power and strength until I had my daughter, having her was the best thing that could have happened to me. Finding myself a single mother at 20 years old, I put myself through university to qualify as a vet because I was passionate about conservation and the natural world. But everything really changed when I learnt to hold myself in love, and to heal my relationship with myself while training as a priestess, and later with the beautiful VITA practices while training as a coach.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
I’d seen the power of ritual and the value and growth that comes from having space held for you from all my wonderful teachers. When my amazing husband and I spent 3 months hiking 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail for our honeymoon, there was a lot of time for meditation as we walked. And the realization grew in me that it was my calling to share with other women everything that I had learned, to be part of the resurgence of the divine feminine in the world, I couldn’t let fear of being seen hold me back any more.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
My vision is a world where the feminine is valued as much as the masculine. A world where all women are able to enjoy and celebrate their bodies without being shamed, and are empowered in their own pleasure and self expression. I believe that as we come back into the right relationship with ourselves, we also come back into the right relationship with others and with the rest of the natural world.
I coach women 1:1 and hold rituals for women who want to re-wild themselves and find their inner strength and joy.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
I homeschooled my daughter from age 11 up to GCSE while I was working full time and studying part time for my masters degree in conservation medicine.
Later, I worked full time while doing the intensive 18 month training to become a VITA certified love, sex and relationship coach, and also studying for an MA in folklore.
But the biggest accomplishment I feel is every time a woman experiences a change in her life from the time we spend together, it’s my joy and privilege to do this work.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
That all women come to know their own worth, and that they deserve pleasure and joy in their lives. And for women everywhere to lift each other up in sisterhood.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
The world needs far more women leaders, and a style of leadership based on power-with and collaboration, rather than power-over and inequality.
What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
As women we are often taught to put everyone else’s needs before our own, but your needs, dreams and desires are also vitally important. Shine your light as brightly as you can!
