What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.

My early years were marked by a deep-rooted loss of confidence that cast a long shadow over my life. In one single incident my senior year of high school, my identity was crushed. I spent the next 17 years in a state of denial, overwhelm and exhaustion. 

I followed the course that began at the University of Michigan when I graduated as an Industrial and Operations Engineer. On the outside, I had an incredible career. Living an envy worthy life. Working at some of the best companies in the world (DoubleClick, Google, Vitality – part of Discovery). Moving up to leadership positions fast. Yet feeling more miserable than ever. 

It wasn’t until I found myself as VP of Product Management and realized that I was being bullied by the CEO and going through infertility treatments that I knew something had to change. 

I asked myself, ‘How do I truly want to live my life?’ The answer was clear: to pursue my passion for coaching and help others navigate their own career journeys.

Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”

My passion for leadership development was ignited during my college years. I realized that work should be more than just a paycheck; it should nourish the soul. Witnessing the challenges faced by female leaders in male-dominated industries—either shrinking or being labeled harshly—inspired me to create a different narrative.

I believe there’s a unique value that women bring to leadership, combining strength, confidence, and empathy. My mission is to empower women to embrace their full potential and redefine the corporate landscape. By fostering a culture of supportive, inclusive leadership, we can create a more equitable and fulfilling workplace for everyone

Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?

I envision a world where companies are led by compassionate, empathetic leaders who prioritize the well-being of their employees over their own pockets. A world where compensation reflects the value that individual brings to the table, rather than perpetuating harmful disparities. I dream of a future where women and minority groups are treated with the respect and equality they deserve. Workplaces that foster a healthy balance between professional and personal life, allowing individuals to thrive in both realms. Ultimately, I want to see a world where work is seen as a source of fulfillment and purpose, rather than a grind that sacrifices personal well-being. A world where parents can be both successful professionals and loving caregivers, contributing positively to their families and communities.

Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?

While significant progress has been made, women in leadership roles still face unique challenges. Many feel the pressure to ‘carry the torch’ or conform to outdated stereotypes, leading to burnout or a hardening of their approach.

However, this is also a time of great opportunity. We’re seeing more women leaders taking charge of their own narrative and defining their own style of leadership. By embracing their individuality and authenticity, these women are paving the way for a new era of leadership.

It’s crucial that we continue to challenge the status quo and support women in reaching their full potential. This means fostering inclusive work environments, promoting work-life balance, and recognizing that success is not solely defined by traditional metrics like title or income. By embracing a more holistic definition of leadership, we can create a world where women thrive and inspire others to do the same.

What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?

The most important lesson I’ve learned is the power of vulnerability. Bravery isn’t about being fearless; it’s about facing your fears and choosing to live authentically, even when it’s difficult.

My personal motto, ‘Brave means living in your truth,’ reflects this belief. Life will inevitably present challenges, regardless of our mindset. It’s how we respond to these challenges that defines our journey. By choosing bravery, we embrace the ups and downs, learn, grow, and become stronger.

A key component of bravery is recognizing that we don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Building a strong support network of friends, family, and professionals is essential. These relationships provide the encouragement, guidance, and companionship we need to navigate life’s journey with resilience and grace.

With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?

Embrace your individuality. It’s your unique perspective, experiences, and strengths that will set you apart. Go deep within yourself to understand what truly drives you and what success means to you personally.

Invest in building a strong support network before you need it. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, offer guidance, and provide a listening ear. Nurturing these relationships now will ensure you have a solid foundation when you face challenges.

Don’t be afraid to take risks and step outside your comfort zone. Growth and innovation often occur when we challenge ourselves and embrace new opportunities.

Most importantly, believe in yourself. Your grit and determination are your greatest assets. Keep pushing forward, stay true to your values, and never let anyone dim your light, especially yourself!
