If your business could have a mascot, what would it be and why?
Estefania Barsante shares with us that, “An owl – because it looks at things from different perspectives and is wise :)”
What strategies do you employ to maintain a healthy work-life balance while running your own business?
- I plan my week – the tasks that I’ll do each day.
- I’m very disciplined about not working / or thinking about work at night or on the weekends.
- I have self-care habits, such as meditating, exercising, journaling, etc.
When faced with unexpected detours on your business path, how do you pivot with grace and resilience, showing fellow women entrepreneurs the way forward?
I analyse what went wrong and what can I learn from the experience and I plan the pivot using those insights. Also I don’t take the detours personally (“I’m a failure”) – I look at them as things that happen when you’re doing something for the first time.
How do you measure the success of your business beyond financial metrics, such as customer satisfaction or community engagement?
Customer Satisfaction (Satisfaction Survey, NPS=9), # of Referrals and Returning Clients
Can you share a memorable moment where you witnessed significant growth or transformation in your business, illustrating the impact of your services/products?
When I launched a community for immigrant women with a big success. Up until that point I only had 1-1 coaching and some group workshops, but when I launched this community I saw how many clients signed up because they trusted me and my work.
What role do you believe mentorship plays in the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial journey?
I believe that mentors help us when we don’t have the experience and the confidence to do things. They help us with accountability, sharing their experience and bringing a new perspective to what we’re going through. My mentors taught me about the craft (coaching), but also how to be resilient and harvest my strengths.
What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?
I coach women all over the world with big transitions in their lives and/or careers: career moves, immigration, building a business, etc. I focus on both practical aspects but also psychological and emotional ones. Now, I’m writing a book about the Immigrant Journey using my own experience as a Brazilian woman living in Silicon Valley and also coaching hundreds of people.
