Anella Hansen
Anella Hansen is your Danish Clinical Hypnotherapist on the Costa del Sol, Spain.
She tells us that, “I live in Mijas, Spain with the most beautiful man on earth who I will soon be celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary with. Together we have had 4 children and 6 grandchildren, where the 3 still live in Denmark and one lives in Malaga and has a son.”
Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
In short, I have walked in many different shoes, in the sense that I have experienced things on my own body and soul, such as growing up in a home with a mother who was an alcohol addict and at the age of 17 I was sexually abused and exposed to both physical and psychological violence by a boyfriend. In addition, two of my children struggled with an eating disorder and suicidal thoughts, respectively, when they were teenagers. Therefore, I know what it means to live a life with anxiety, stress and depression.
Before I became a clinical hypnotherapist, I worked as a cognitive couples therapist, and before that I worked as a pedagogue in a nursery, and in a preschool group. The last 4 months in my job as a pedagogue changed my life completely when I was bullied by a colleague, then went down with stress that paralyzed the left side of my body. I then spent half a year learning to crawl, stand and walk again, but I succeeded.
All of this has made me who I am, as well as the reason for what I have chosen to work with, because I luckily got help, so I can work with what I love today and am so lucky to be able to help others before they reach as far out as I did.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
14 years ago, I founded Wellbeing Forever Clinical Hypnotherapy, which was originally called Næstved Couples Therapy, as my focus at that time was primarily couples therapy. Since then, I have expanded my skills and trained as a reiki healer, mindfulness instructor, Mindful Motivation Therapist and clinical hypnotherapist.
Wellbeing Forever Clinical Hypnotherapy works with clients who have many different challenges and needs. Among other things, I help people quit smoking, lose weight, deal with anxiety and stress, and deal with depression. I also treat different types of phobias, such as fear of birds, spiders, needles or small spaces – just to name a few. My goal is to help people overcome these challenges and create a better balance in their lives.
“In addition to helping individual clients with their challenges, I have a course specifically ‘Dealing with an everyday life with difficult emotions, anxiety and stress’ for teenagers (13-18 years) and young people that helps them deal with an everyday life with difficult emotions, anxiety and stress.”
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
All clients have responded well to Wellbeing Forever Clinical Hypnotherapy, they are happy to come here and those who have participated in my course are happy with the difference it has made for them.
On one of my courses there was a young girl, at that time she had not been in school for 2 years, the girl was only 15 years old and had many difficult feelings due to bullying which manifested itself in a lot of anxiety and depressive thoughts, on the verge of harming herself. When she entered the classroom, she actually crept along the wall.
After the first module where she had only said her name, she showed up for the second module with a tightly written letter that took up two A4 pages. The letter she asked me to read aloud to the class was difficult to read as the girl was very dyslexic and full of emotions.
With my instructor sitting with tears in his eyes, when I read the letter with a pat in my throat, after the letter was read aloud, the other 11 students stood up and applauded the girl, one of them pointed at the girl and said to her “I, would like to be your friend, thank you for writing what I feel!” The girl replied “You are the first person to ask about my friendship in my entire life”
While the course was going on, the young girl started school again, this time at the music school she had always dreamed of getting into.
To this day, I still have goosebumps over this experience, which made such an impression on me that I think my work is worth it.
The young girl is today 21 years old, lives a Completely normal life as a newly graduated photographer, without the difficult emotions, anxiety and depressive thoughts.
Another experience I have had is with an elderly man who came to get help to get control of his negative thoughts that he could not understand why he had. Through several conversations we found the reason that had roots back in his childhood. It was very difficult feelings that went through him, but afterwards he was happy that he had had the courage to open up to a stranger and ask for help. This was expressed in his statement to me afterwards.
“It was a good experience. Obviously, you can do some things as a professional. I think you’re quick to spot the state of things. It also gave a good impression when you told something about yourself as a person. It’s not just a therapist you’re sitting across from. There’s a good person behind it!”
How has your life changed because of your venture?
Life has made me a more attentive person. When I hear or see some people, especially young people, having a hard time, I find it difficult not to offer my help to no one and I repeat no one should go through a life like the young girl if I can help make a difference.
What are you working on right now?
*Right now I am working on two projects, one is to find a new and suitable room to hold courses in workshops that can also be used for my other project of creating a community for women by women, where you can be yourself, be heard, supported, and have the opportunity to communicate with other women, exchange experiences and say the things out loud that you usually don’t dare because it’s taboo, for example:
– I have a daughter who wants to be a boy
– I don’t having love for my newborn child
A community where women can get input on everyday challenges and much, much more.
Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.
My message to everyone is: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, it’s brave and strong and stand up for yourself regardless of gender, race, creed, language and disability, and say what you think.”
