What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
Throughout high school and college I was the most quiet person I knew. I used to feel very anxious around people, unhappy, lost and defeated. To go from that place to where I am now (the polar opposite) is an amazing achievement and I know that if I can overcome these challenges I can help others do the same.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
A conversation I had with my mentor, who is an entrepreneur, which made me realise that now is the best time to start and that I would be able to receive mental and emotional support from an expert while I’m getting it off the ground 🙂 Fear is the biggest barrier 🚧 and knowing that you have someone to help and support you gives you the confidence to stick on the right path long enough to collect the evidence that you can do it!
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
Yeah 👍 💯 I believe that there are different types of people, everyone is wired to have natural strengths, and there is enough space for everyone to thrive. I don’t believe in any hierarchies, I instead believe that we all have equal value and if we realised our talents and purpose at a younger age we’d be much happier and more productive as a society.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
I believe society is evolving and false narratives which create self-limiting beliefs for women are being shattered. Seeing role models who are cut from the same cloth as you achieving success through honest hard work is inspiring. Through my coaching, I have helped both men and women develop personal leadership skills and make progress in their careers, e.g. I’ve inspired a female client (Aman) to lead a group of business owners through putting on in person events and work on her own business as she is transitioning from part time to full time business 🙂
What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?
Be yourself, follow your purpose and keep on going
With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
You’ve probably heard the Henry Ford quote “whether you believe you can or cannot do it you’re right”. This is very true for anyone building a business so it’s imperative to get away from toxic people and get around uplifting people who believe in you 😀 Also patience is important so make sure you live life one day at a time and enjoy your climb up the mountain 🏔️ Never be gaslit into thinking you have to suffer and be miserable until you get there. You deserve to be happy throughout the entire journey and if you enjoy it you are more likely to stick to it long enough to see results 🙂
