Frank “Bart” Boodell
Frank “Bart” Boodell is a Health & Fitness Coach.
He further tells us that, “Long time athlete, played football, baseball, basketball, rugby and track n field. I was a sports nut. And fortunately, I have had some incredible coaches/mentors that till this day I use their combined wisdom to help me coach in the manner I believe is more fulfilling for me, but truly empowering for the athlete/client. I love what I do, I get to help people slow down so they can reach deep inside themselves to discover or rediscover their love for movement and play. They learn how to make themselves feel better. I liken myself to an enzyme, without me the person may discover their path, but with me they’ll find it more quickly.”
Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
Difficult, I was 7 years old when I first began thinking about how to run faster. I had an older brother and “keeping up” with him was important. Not long after I began reading nutrition books and technique articles on how to run faster, jump higher, how to tackle, etc. I read lots and lots, because I loved it. And I haven’t stopped so far. So, it was inevitable that I became a coach/trainer. And indeed I did, I got my first personal training client in May 1993. I have been a personal trainer ever since as well as coaching high school track and the occasional world class track athlete. I’ve taken multiple degrees and certification along the way to help better understand and digest new ideas and concepts. Which is to say, my whole life has been leading me to this venture.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
My company at the moment consists of my marketing/social media/project manager Karen and myself. I dream up ideas and she helps me bring them into fruition. Working together we’ve built an online program to help people change their lives through nutrition and exercise. But the real purpose is to teach people how to change their lives through consciously creating new habits that perform better than their old habits. It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it and it’s not what you learn, but rather how fast you can learn.
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
To date, my clients love how I’ve created a safe place to explore themselves, to make mistakes and fix them. My personal achievements are boring, don’t get me wrong, I look back on the 50+ seasons of organized sports and cherish every victory and defeat. But, helping one of my clients prepare to hike to 15,000 ft summit in the Himalayas is far more interesting. Then there’s my golfer who couldn’t even drive to the golf course because his back was bothering him so much. Now he’s playing golf 3-4 times per week, walking the course, driving off the tee farther than any time in the last 20+ years, without surgery. All because I taught him simple movements without pain and then built his routine until he is lifting weights on his own, swimming a mile 2x per week, traveling and all this in his mid sixties. Next, I began working with a woman in her early sixties. She had never lifted before and was intimidated by the whole gym experience. 9 years later, she loves lifting weights, gardens and lifts her own bags of dirt, moves furniture, travels regularly, hikes, and in fact, is stronger than when she was 35 years old. These are my achievements.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
For the better, but I’ve been doing it for so long, it’s hard to remember the previous part.
What are you working on right now?
At the moment, we’re working on integrating AI into our nutrition portion of the platform. I have an individualistic approach to nutrition and I’m really excited about this portion of our business and its consequences on better health for our clients.
