Bukie Adebola-Ezeh
Bukie Adebola-Ezeh tells us that, “I believe that life is more like a flowing river than a perfectly balanced scale. It’s important to embrace the idea that life is happening for us, not to us, as Tony Robbins said. Every experience that comes our way has a purpose, and when we truly understand this, we can let go of the need to constantly strive for balance.
In both my personal life and business, I choose to appreciate the ebb and flow of life. I am grateful for the opportunities and challenges that come my way. I also make it a point to take personal breaks and allow myself time to breathe. Being a mother of four, plus my husband and a special needs child, I understand the importance of taking care of myself in order to be present and effective in all areas of my life.”
When faced with unexpected hurdles in your business, how do you stay strong?
When faced with unexpected hurdles in my business, I remind myself of my WHY. I reflect on who I am, the purpose I am here for, and the importance of the impact I aim to create in this space. This helps me to be grateful for what I have already accomplished and renew my energy and personal beliefs. By doing so, I create new momentum to overcome the challenges and keep moving forward.
How do you determine the success of your business beyond financial metrics, focusing on factors like customer satisfaction and community impact?
I determine the success of my efforts beyond financial metrics by the number of lives I have transformed through my knowledge, skills, and impact. For instance, during the COVID lock-down, I organized daily zoom sessions called SUITED4SUCCESS for a group of remarkable women who were seeking to redefine their identity and adapt to the changes in life and business.
Additionally, we had a Sunday evening program called JOIN THE CHAMPIONS, where successful women from different fields shared their stories with us. These programs were not only free, but they also empowered attendees to grow their confidence, discover their unique identity, and build successful businesses.
These programs had a significant impact on the attendees. Many of them experienced personal growth and increased confidence as a result of participating. They were able to gain a clearer understanding of their unique identity and how to navigate the challenges they faced in both life and business.
Furthermore, the programs provided a supportive community where attendees could connect with like-minded individuals and learn from successful women in various fields. As a result, many of the participants were able to not only transform their lives but also achieve success in their own businesses. The programs served as a catalyst for their personal and professional growth, providing them with the tools and inspiration they needed to thrive.
These programs have become the cornerstone of my own personal business and have had a profound impact on transforming lives.
Can you recount a pivotal moment in your business journey where you saw remarkable growth or witnessed a transformative change, showcasing the impact of your products or services?
I’m currently at a pivotal point in my life where I have the opportunity to uncover the deeper meaning behind everything I’ve experienced so far.
One aspect of my journey revolves around my work in the business field. Assisting my clients in discovering their unique identity, gaining confidence, and making life-changing decisions to embrace faith over fear is incredibly fulfilling for me.
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. A. She found me online and reached out for guidance. Interestingly enough, we discovered that she lived nearby. We decided to meet and began our sessions together.
During our time together, we delved into Mrs. A’s understanding of her own identity. We connected this understanding to her goals and engaged in clarity sessions. We discussed the importance of focusing on her strengths rather than fixating on weaknesses or attempting to achieve a perfect “balance” in life. Mrs. A eloquently expressed her thoughts on the matter, saying, “Understanding who you are is key. Discovering my personality helped me recognize my true self and the reasons behind my actions. By understanding myself, I gained insight into why I achieve the results I do, and it empowered me to take full responsibility for my wholeness.”
Mrs. A’s journey continued as she embarked on building her first business during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the circumstances, she managed to generate an impressive 1.5 million in revenue. And now, she is the proud owner of her second business.
Mrs. A found the process of understanding her own identity to be incredibly helpful. It allowed her to gain insight into who she truly is and why she behaves the way she does. By discovering her own personality and recognizing her strengths, Mrs. A was able to understand why she achieves the results she does. This self-awareness helped her take responsibility for her actions and embrace the wholeness of who she is. Overall, understanding herself empowered Mrs. A to make informed decisions and navigate her personal and professional journey with clarity and confidence.
In your view, how crucial is mentorship for the success of small businesses, and how have mentors influenced your own entrepreneurial path?
I recently came across an advertisement promoting a mentorship program for women to become high-valued individuals. However, I was disheartened to discover that the program was being run by men. In my opinion, mentors who have firsthand experience and have walked the talk are better suited to guide and inspire others in life.
Mentorship is incredibly important for the success of small businesses. A mentor can offer valuable guidance, advice, and support based on their own experiences and expertise. They can help navigate the challenges and pitfalls that come with starting and running a business. Furthermore, mentors can provide valuable insights, connections, and resources that can accelerate growth and development. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the specific areas in which we want to grow and find mentors who have thrived in those areas. This approach is vital for both our individual growth and collective impact.
When I began my journey in business, I recognized the areas in which I needed to enhance my skills, strategy, presentation, and mindset in order to succeed as a salesperson. I actively sought out mentors and coaches who specialized in those areas.
Moreover, having a mentor can significantly boost confidence, encourage innovation, and provide a valuable sounding board for ideas and decision-making. Overall, mentorship plays a crucial role in the success of small businesses by providing invaluable support and guidance.

What special ability do you wish you had to make your job easier?
As an identity-led coach, one thing I have learnt is to embrace who I am and soar in my strength. So I do not sit around wishing I have any special ability, what I don’t have, I leverage and delegate.
