What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I grew up in Scotland near Edinburgh and I come from a big family, with 4 siblings and lots of cousins. We would have lots of fun holidays each year where we went on family holidays to Berwick upon tweed in England. However life was tough at times for me having my son at a young age 16, i moved away from my family and this meant I went to work for many hours to provide for him after his father left.So as a single mum I wanted to be a good role model for my son. so I also went to college to study and educate myself to improve my chances of being able to get a better job. I worked in retail then moved into healthcare for many years. I also studied massage and ran my own massage business. I also did volunteer work for the stroke association and an adults and children’s hospice.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
When I faced a stroke at the tender age of 31, I reinvented myself as a beacon of health and vitality. My journey started from the grips of chronic pain to the peaceful shores of Turkey, where I now lead transformative wellness retreats and a coaching business. After experiencing many years of ill health following a stroke and finding no relief from medications prescribed by doctors. I took charge of my own well-being and became the CEO of my own health, I knew that I deserved to have a quality of life and the significance of dreaming big, and why settling for mediocrity simply wasn’t an option.
I now share the tools and techniques that played a pivotal role in my own wellness journey.
My mission is to help and empower my clients to overcome their most challenging obstacles and start living happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
No matter what adversities life throws at you, you can bounce back and live a beautiful fulfilling life.
My aim is to guide, support and assist others in building the life they clearly deserve, I create a balance that prioritizes your well-being and celebrates all aspects of your true self. nurturing your Mind, Body and Soul again—embrace who you truly are.
Know that happiness from within is possible and we all have the courage to let adversity fuel our personal evolution.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
For everyone to be treated with respect, kindness and to feel valued, to feel seen, heard and understood, to know that you matter we all matter. We all have our beautiful gifts to share with the world. We are all unique and special, let’s celebrate who we are, let’s celebrate our own uniqueness.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
I see more women standing in their power, breaking down barriers, that’s the old paradigm, women are more empowered now and have so many valuable skills to share. I do see more women striving forward and being recognised for their hard work and commitment, their voices are being heard. ok maybe not as fast as we would like perhaps, however it’s happening and women are supporting each other which is beautiful to see, and as a collective force standing strong together, united, I believe is the way forward to being recognised and also appreciating how far we have come.
What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?
It’s up to us to take full responsibility for our actions and the choices we make and to learn from life. I learned that it’s ok to ask for help. As someone who learned the hard way by trying to do it on my own, this was detrimental to my health as I ended up burnt out. So it is important to have a good support network around you, ask for help. Have role models to look up to, friends and family to support you, but ultimately we must put in the hard work and take action if we want to pursue our dreams and goals. also trying new things is so important in order for us to evolve and grow, to make things happen give new things a try also it’s so important to be thankful and grateful everyday for your life and for the people you meet and the opportunities that are to be had.Look after your mental Well-being, be mindful of what you eat and drink, get out into nature, have fun laugh, dance sing enjoy life. ` if all things are possible, never give up hope for you because you are worth it.You are stronger than you think”!
With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
Follow your dreams, your passions, don’t have regrets and wish you had followed your purpose. Go for it and share your beautiful gifts with the world, the world needs you!
Every day is a day to be creative. don’t compare yourself to others, you are unique., the hardest step is to start, once you do everything else will fall into place, be willing to step out of your comfort zone. Have the right mindset and believe in yourself.
