Felicie Escoffier
Felicie Escoffier is a French woman living in London since 2010. She is the mother of 2 wonderful kids. After 15 years in the corporate world, she became an entrepreneur and launched her coaching business.
Before diving into your current endeavors, what childhood dreams did you harbor, and how do they manifest in your work today?
I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Morocco until I was 10 years old.
My adult life was classic and on track until I experienced a divorce. This is when I decided to give another direction to my career and reassess my needs. It was time to give a deeper meaning to my job and find a way to help people differently.
If you could pen a letter to your younger self, what empowering words would you whisper across time’s whispering winds?
As a young woman, I saw my father suffering a lot because of his job. He developed cancer during these tough years and died from it. My divorce also happened after a burn out my ex husband did because of work.
This is when I realised that society was not supporting men when they were going through rough times. It encouraged me to work with them to provide them a safe space to raise their concerns and fears.
Consequently a part of me wanted as well to help the daughters and the wives that won’t have to pay the price of this lack of support.
What’s your work all about, and how does it make a difference in the world?
I’m trying to raise my clients’ self-awareness in order for them to feel aligned with who they are and ultimately be happy in their lives.
I want to be able to show them their blind spots in order for them to grow and face their reality. Changes can feel scary and I want to make sure that my clients feel safe with me to implement anything they think would bring them happiness.
Reflecting on your journey, what unexpected plot twists moments have shaped your path?
Entrepreneurship is a series of achievements and accomplishments. Starting from scratch, every day your business is “alive” is an accomplishment!
From the beginning of my journey, I can think of: building a presence on LinkedIn (which used to freak me out at the beginning), posting every week, building a network outside of Linkedin, having more than 30 clients in 2 years, getting recommendations from previous clients, having companies trusting me to work with them…
If you could travel back in time to witness an important moment for women, what would it be?
I’d like to see a world where men and women would be equal and where they would understand how they should team up to achieve even better things. I’d like to see a world where people would know how to communicate about their needs in a calm and composed way. I’m convinced that it’s the way to avoid arguments, conflicts and wars…
What special ability do you wish you had to make your job easier?
I think the world will be a better place with more women leading big companies and countries. We need a balance between men and women’s energies in the world. (and I think we saw where it lead us when only men were in charge!!)
Picture a world where every young woman follows in your footsteps. What does that world look like, and how does it feel?
That’s everything is possible as long as you BELIEVE in YOURSELF. No room for self doubt when you want to change the world! Go for it girls!
If you could invite three fictional characters to help you plan your next project, who would you choose, and why?
Thanks a lot for finding me!
