Einav Avni
Einav Avni is an alignment coach and energy healer, using the Emotion Code and Body Code healing modalities. In her own words, “I work mainly with people suffering from chronic pain, chronic illnesses or unexplained medical conditions to heal or reduce their symptoms. I also work with people feeling stuck and unhappy, to recognise the negative voice and limiting beliefs that are holding them back.”
What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your professional journey/venture/initiative and what inspired you to choose this career.
I was fairly insecure growing up, not feeling like I belonged and being different from the group of people around me. This said, I always knew I could make very strong connections with people, and bring a lot of deep energy to these connections.
Time passed and I got married and moved to another country, and it wasn’t until I separated from my ex-husband that I went to see a therapist who changed my life forever.
I always say I wasn’t so proud of my marriage, but I was very happy with my divorce, yet I was still feeling like I didn’t know who I was and was looking for some directions.
The therapist I found turned up very drunk to our meeting, yet in between the fumes, he listened to my story and simply told me I was lacking the courage of my own convictions. I was so blown away by this observation, that I went home and started reflecting on my life to date. I was around 30 years old at that point, so I was very happy these words came when I still had a chance to change and find myself in this life. I decided he was right and that I was too attached to ‘fear’. If a situation came up, I would only say yes if it felt safe. If I went somewhere new, I would do the same kind of stuff I did before. In retrospect, I understood I was very much in my comfort zone, and not knowing what life could be outside of it, I dug my heels in the sand and stayed put!
As I was sitting at home reflecting on my life and past behaviours, I decided I was no longer going to let fear be a guest at the table. From now on, I decided, whenever a situation came up, I would ask myself these questions:
Do I want to do it (yes!)
- Does it scare me? (hell yes!)
- 3, Is it going to kill me? (if yes, abort, but if no… JUST DO IT!)
That’s when the next chapter of my life really took off.
I did anything and everything and found myself in wild situations I would never have been able to before. I did my diving course and went looking for sunken ships, I went travelling all by myself. I went climbing the foothills of the Himalayas and raised money for charity. I did a Teach English as a Foreign Language course and went to Mongolia for a year to teach.
Later I came back to the UK and did my Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction and went on to become a User Experience Designer for some very exciting projects. After some years I decided I was missing the deep connections I had with people and went on to complete my Coaching and Mentoring certification course, as well as becoming a Master Practitioner of NLP. In that latter course, I first learnt about the Mind-Body Connection and after seeing my peer reducing her chronic neck pain from a constant 7 out of 10 to a beautiful zero, I knew this is what I wanted to bring more of to the world.
Was there any turning point in your life that changed your journey? If so, what was it? Please tell us the backstory behind it.
When I finished my course, I went out and joined various FaceBook groups and started talking to people about healing. It wasn’t long before people showed me how attached they can be to their illnesses or conditions. This is not to say they wanted to keep on being unwell, but the thought of change was horrifying to them. I decided I wasn’t ready to deal with this and went on to be a Confidence and Empowerment Coach. I was mainly working on helping people recognise the negative voice and limiting beliefs that were holding them back.
One day a new client showed up at my virtual steps, who was suffering from constant severe chronic pain on levels of 10 out of 10! Just by using the concept of ‘moving out of alignment’ his pain levels dropped, until eventually, it disappeared completely. Working with him reminded me how drawn I always felt to the idea of natural healing and I changed focus into what I do now. I am also certified in the healing modalities I use and now offer a combination of coaching and healing to anyone I work with, with phenomenal results!
Tell us about your goals, interests, and role models.
My goals are to bring the message of alternative, natural healing to the world. I want anyone who has been diagnosed with anything chronic, to know that healing is and can be done by working on the emotional level and not only the physical one.
I want to open up a healing centre where people can come and heal in a calm, energised, aligned manner, healing their physical bodies and their mental, emotional and spiritual ones.
Everyone has their own set of challenges when starting an entrepreneurial journey. Still, the most essential part for others to learn is how you deal with those. Would you like to share with us your challenges and your coping mechanisms?
One of the biggest challenges in the work I do is that people out there are still enchanted by the white-coat syndrome; what the doctors are saying they accept as the gospel and do not realise that others in the same condition have healed just by being open to alternative methods!
I cope with this by appealing to people who are interested in trying out new things. I go on talks and share my beliefs and approach with anyone who cares to know that doctors bring a lot of good, but they don’t necessarily have the same answers as other modalities. For example, I’ve worked with people who healed conditions such as fibromyalgia and psoriasis – both of these are considered incurable by Western Medicine …
What impact do you feel you have been able to create with your work so far and how would you want to grow in the next few years?
I help people heal or feel better and the ripple effect is huge and wonderful. I help people believe in their lives and their future and make a difference they weren’t able to beforehand.
While the global pandemic of COVID-19 is associated primarily with adversities, it has also brought about a true boom in startups, with successful entrepreneurship in many countries. The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another. Would you like to share your experience on a personal and professional level?
Nearly every person I see has reported their symptoms worsened during and after the pandemic. This supports my belief that illnesses are not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional ones. We need to be able to have a community and social interactions and when we don’t, we suffer a lot more. Loneliness brought up a surge in chronic conditions in people, more so in the elderly population.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
Each and every one of my clients, when they notice an improvement in the physical and emotional symptoms is an achievement and a reward I wouldn’t replace this with anything!
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I’d like to see less stress in the world. I want to see people doing the things that truly call them and bring them joy, rather than going through the motions and compromising. I want to see free education and the ability for people to experience jobs or professions that truly feel right for them, regardless of prestige or pressure. I’d like to see people put joy and harmony at the base of everything they do and have the freedom to make the choices that are right for them (with kindness, of course)
What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?
Be kind and go for it if it calls you.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women’s leadership today?
I welcome the move but I would like to see women in Leadership bringing more of their womanhood to their methods rather than having to be more male-like. Women have so much power and wisdom to bring with them to anything they do, I’d like to see them connect with their own true powers and influence change that comes from the heart more than the head.
With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
You are strong, talented and completely unique. Don’t dilute yourself by comparing yourselves to others. You came here for a reason – let this knowing be your guiding force!
