Cathy Dimarchos
Cathy Dimarchos is driven by an unwavering vision to create Global Impact.
She tells us that, “I am committed to sharing knowledge that supports conscious visionaries, philanthropists, governments, and business leaders, to bring their vision to life, where others have failed. I do this through decades of experience in strategic advice, financial literacy, and with my training as a counsellor. I change lives, build communities and increase economic growth. I see what others don’t and listen to what’s not said to facilitate transformation that is yearned but yet to be discovered. My work isn’t for the faint-hearted, it’s for those that dare to be courageous and play BIGGER.”
What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
My career started in the Bank where I escalated through the ladder working with Small businesses and high net worth clients. Having worked through the GFC I saw clients go through hardship and suicidal situations, I learnt that PEOPLE matter over everything in business. I then set up my first business in 1997 and have since supported visionaries to set and scale their businesses across the globe, including securitisation, BPO’s, Neo Banks and then stepped into the work I do now. Businesses globally can all be a part of a Social impact project as this helps shape our future generation and the planet that we live in and this is what drives me. I love my philanthropic work because I not only change lives, but change communities and I can see the transformation happen in front me as I facilitate programs globally.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
I see businesses from within and this shows me that foundations are rarely set, no matter how large they are, and this creates gaps and impacts cultures. The pursuit of turning businesses around by upskilling their people is what drives me. I want people and businesses to be self-reliant and to do it with personal confidence rather than stale practices that no longer serve humanity, our planet or our future generation. People reach out to engage me because others have failed them. For me it’s about sharing knowledge and creating a ripple effect with solid foundations.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
I base my clients on alignment in values. Ethics, integrity and respect are integral. I say “no” 80% of the time as most people are not ready to work with me, nor are their values aligned. I choose where I spend my energy so that I can unlock new paths for those who are ready to recognise what is possible in the world and be part of a global impact vision.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
I can turn businesses around from turning over $200,000 to over $12M within 18 months or fast track Billion dollar businesses, but it’s about the culture and the people. It is never about a transactional arrangement. I want to help people in business to change the economy and the way we live life. My aim is to help Africa and India become leaders of tomorrow and to show their future generation they are capable of everything. I will support Women Owned Business, become Financial Literate and gain Economic security, because I know how to do it and it’s not from a marketing strategy. It is by knowing how the fundamentals of Business work and this is a program I run to help facilitate growth that is substantial and scalable.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
Know your numbers, so you can make educated decisions. Marketing is One- Eighth of s business so focus on what will equip you to not only succeed, but thrive so you can retire and live a life you deserve without being reliant on someone else. Economic Security is achievable, you just need to think limitlessly and become self-reliant. Don’t be inspired. Take action. Have a clear strategy that is bigger than you and stand next to people who are geniuses in their field.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
Women don’t need to be empowered, we already are. We simply need to be willing to take others on the journey upward with us AS WE RISE, not after we have reached a destination. Collaboration creates GLOBAL IMPACT. There is no Competition, when we collaborate. Be the women who shouts out another women in a room field with opportunities.
What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
Invest in you. Have skin in the game and know the impact you want to make in the world. BE BRAVE | BE COURAGEOUS | BE YOU!
