Michelle Sotiriou
Michelle Sotiriou is a Holistic Therapist & Career Coach. She grew up in a harsh Greek Cypriot household and recalls that it was not easy or kind. However, she had the unconditional and unwavering love of her beautiful mum. She helped her believe in herself on the dark days of self-doubt and zero confidence. Ironically, those formative years of restrictions and challenges became the foundation for her life as a holistic therapist. Basically, the experiences that helped her to evolve instead of fold!
Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
I spent 11 years working for AVEDA in various management roles in their London flagship location. That is where my education in rituals, meditation, wellness, and lessons in the science of flowers and essential oils began. In my heart, I wanted to help people with Massage. But, I developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both wrists after working as a hairdresser before joining AVEDA – so I needed to find an alternative.
That’s when Reiki came into my life.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
It is my view that everyone can heal themselves. Not in the conventional way but in adopting a Holistic lifestyle and practices. Life as we know can be challenging, with adverse effects to the mind, body and spiritually. Holistic Healing helps people towards a life they want to wake up to each morning.
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
The response from my clients has been overwhelming! Their support, kindness and trust in the process means the world. As well as achieving Level 2 Reiki, I am a certified Meditation Facilitator and Holistic Fertility Practitioner.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
My life is now richer for having connected with clients of all cultures, backgrounds and beliefs. I have learned more as a therapist than I ever would have imagined. Every day is fascinating!
