What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I was born the third of six children to a young married couple in Chicago. My mother homeschooled all of us kids for many years. I started attending public school in 7th grade which was a shock, but I learned a lot from the transition! I experienced severe anxiety and depression throughout adolescence and into early adulthood which was accompanied by painful skin conditions and frequent illnesses. After university, I learned from those around me about natural ways to treat my conditions, including addressing my mental health. In time, I saw that I was healing and finally able to grasp the life of wellness I had always wanted. I was able to pursue meaningful work in a nonprofit, working with children, and in a business start-up before starting my own business. I was able to meet fitness goals that seemed out of reach before. I met goals of starting a family, contributing to my community, running several times a week, and working for myself.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
Rebecca’s mission is to cultivate fulfilling lives by unpacking negative cycles and building consistent growth. Rebecca offers remote and face-to-face coaching sessions for individuals, groups, and organizations. For those who want to go deeper, she offers meditation sessions, customized
wellness plans and routines, and private workshops. Rebecca implements an income-based sliding scale program to make coaching accessible to all.
While the global pandemic of COVID-19 is associated primarily with adversities, it has also brought about a true boom in startups, with successful entrepreneurship in many countries. The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another. Would you like to share your experience on a personal and professional level?
At the start of the pandemic I was pregnant and also in the early months of operating my business. I have always offered remote coaching services but it became essential to do so during that time. As many of us looked inward during extended periods at home and with family, I was privileged to support the mental health of my clients with online and phone sessions. Since the start of the pandemic I’ve been in a season of growth personally and professionally. My daughter was born in July 2020 and has grown into a curious and precocious child. My business has grown to be a consistent source of income and joy for my family. I have grown to be a more centered, calm, and focused woman and entrepreneur.
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
My clients have changed their lives while working with me. We’ve unlocked higher levels of understanding and achievement during our sessions. I’ve consistently been honored by positive and heartfelt reviews.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
I have been empowered by empowering others. It has been a high privilege to help clients see their own worth, power, and potential.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I would like to see every human have access to mental health support whenever needed or desired so that we would consistently grow, learn, and heal as a global community.
