Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?
I worked full time as a Senior project manager.
Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
Mary Smith Ltd, is a lifestyle brand. We are based in England. We provide our customers with 100% natural products as well as apparel and footwear. Our best selling body balm was birthed from a need to create something that was 100% natural and worked. We use science backed ingredients that have shown overtime to really deliver results.
Hope Valley Social Enterprise provides level 1 business and craft skills to underprivileged residents in the county jurisdiction (Solihull, UK). Those who are unemployed or uneducated, get an alternative offering to help them start a business and be creative. Not everyone learns the same and it’s great to see a council understand and support the needs of. The residents.
What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?
Commercially it’s wonderful to hear feedback from customers on how our products have changed their lives. That’s always humbling. Our community interest company takes it a step further and we get a chance to give back to those who can’t repay. That’s been my greatest achievement – to be trusted by the council to bring improvement and share what I know.
How has your life changed because of your venture?
It’s brought more meaning and purpose to why I do what I do.
Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.
Be intentional with every risk, every opportunity, every passion, every gift you have and anything you want to do. You’ll soon find out that all those things you did are needed – like part of a puzzle- for that very thing you’re on earth to do. Learn as much as you can and share along the way. It’s not always easy but that’s ok. Remember integrity, work with excellence and have fun!
