What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before the venture/ corporate journey?
I started my career as a lawyer, working in criminal law and then decided to leave, because I was unhappy. I moved into management, where I spent 10 years coaching teams and individuals. I felt like something was missing, so I started mentoring children and that led me to coaching.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
The purpose of Asset Business Consultancy is to help women to recognise and achieve their full potential, not just in business but in life. Too many people, women in particular never reach their true potential because of fear or a lack of belief in themselves. Through my 1:1 coaching and training I help women to learn what to do to set their business up for success, so they can feel confident in their business, build a business that will last and make a positive impact with the work that they do.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
In 2021, I was recognised as one of the 100 black trailblazers who are transforming the industry of today, inspiring the generation of tomorrow and making history by the Dots. In 2022 I was named Most Client-Focused Business Support Director by the Influential Business Woman Awards. The feedback from clients has been overwhelming. They’ve shared how much clarity they’ve received about where to start and what to focus on in their business, which has helped to eliminate the confusion and make their progression in business easier.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I feel very blessed that I have been able to work with so many business owners, both through my 1:1 work and my work as a freelance trainer. It is humbling to have helped so many business owners to achieve their goals and it has confirmed to me the importance of never settling and trusting your instincts when you start feeling that you want more from life.
What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
You are 1 of 1. No one has the skills, talents and experiences that you do and you owe it to yourself and the world to share your wisdom. Even if you only help one person, that’s one person whose life is better because of the skills and knowledge you’ve shared with them.
